Here's a 42 Rave Review:
“A wonderful destination, a great boat and the indescribable warmth and hospitality of Terry and Ruth made this a dream vacation come true. Ruth’s cooking alone is reason enough to cruise with 42, while Terry was marvelous with the boys and the sailing instructions. You will thoroughly enjoy this boat with your own charter. Big, roomy, fast - we had it up to 14.5 knots one afternoon in a good upwind 28 knot breeze. And by the way, be sure to diet before boarding. Ruth will keep you stuffed with her impressive cooking skills!”
In addition to all of the physical attributes/comforts of the boat itself, the vacation would not have been complete without the expert instruction and services of Ruth and Terry. We relied upon their knowledge of the BVis to plan each day- where to sail next, what to do when we arrived, dining alternatives for the meals we ate on-shore, water activities (snorkeling, swimming, fishing, kayaking, etc) for our entire family and so much more. The boys thought wake-boarding in the Caribbean Sea was fantastic! Their ability to handle the boat was expert but more impressive was how they encouraged and worked with my 3 sons to help them develop a greater working knowledge of sailing. Frankly, I was a bit concerned on the front end about spending so much time on a boat with a couple we did not know. But within a moment of meeting Terry and Ruth I knew were in great hands- and indeed their warmth, service, humor, and genuine interest in my family made all of the difference to us. They are a class act and I can’t imagine spending a week sailing with a more enjoyable crew/couple!

It is with great pleasure that I write this commendation for two very special people; the Captain Terry Ross and his First Mate, wife and our Chef, Ruth Ross….
Our boat was great, with large staterooms and baths, wifi, a wonderful outdoor dining table, all maintained in state of the art condition by Ruth and Terry……
Ruth took to heart everything that we said [in our preference sheet] so that we not only ate the healthy meals that we prefer but the cooking, creativity and effort to 100% please us was extraordinary. Ruth, your cooking was just delicious, abundant, fun and a very important element to our terrific vacation with you. Not only were the meals that you prepared just great but you did it effortlessly with a constant, genuine real smile that reflected the kind and caring and highly capable person that you are……
We were really honoured to get to know you as a superb professional, but more importantly as a special person, with an equally special husband, who we hope will take us up on our open offer, now, in 2 years or even 10 to visit us…….
We have chartered many times and have always had a lovely experience. We understand the “territory” and the challenges of many on board in a rather limited space. Both of you, though, are at a level of sophistication about your business and about life, that is as good as it gets. We appreciated the spirit you brought to our vacation, Terry’s very gentle firmness in insisting on certain matters of safety and the love that you have for each other which we could sense as you quietly sat together while Terry piloted our boat.
So from all of us to you, Ruth and Terry, with deepest gratitude for a very special 7 days together, and memories that we will carry with us always……….
Warmest,
W, R and Family, Colorado.
A fabulous holiday. Thanks for all the time spent finding fun for the kids. Meals were delicious and loads of fun. And thanks for indulging our “laziness”- we were completely relaxed the entire trip. Thank you.
S.D. Charlotte.
Awesome professionals and very special people, Ruth and Terry made this voyage one filled with delicious food, magical sailing, beautiful vistas and visited harbours, and a family experience that Ruth and Terry warmly, graciously and unobtrusively allowed to unfold for us day by day. With appreciation for our new friendship,
The L family, Aspen.
