A2 Crew Profile

JACO AND JENNY MET ON THE ISLAND OF TORTOLA IN THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS 3 YEARS AGO and have been chartering together on beautiful luxury sailing catamarans as a Captain and 1st Mate / Chef team ever since.

In August 2014, full of excitement for a new challenge, Jaco and Jenny jumped at the opportunity of becoming the new crew on A2, a beautiful 56 foot Lagoon, recently launched in France 2013 – and were ecstatic to be working on and representing such a beautifully maintained yacht.

In addition to chartering in the British Virgin Islands, they have also chartered in other Caribbean Islands including Saint Martin, Anguilla, Saint Bart’s, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Turks & Caicos and the Bahamas. Jaco and Jenny agree that the waters of the British Virgin Islands are their favorite area to host wonderful charters. “The distance between the islands allow for very comfortable and enjoyable day sails, with plenty of snorkeling, hiking, beach bars (and more!) along the way”.

Jaco and Jenny are an experienced and energetic professional crew who combine their sense of adventure into an unforgettable experience for A2’s guests.

JACO GREW UP IN SOUTH AFRICA’S WINE COUNTRY, STELLENBOSCH. He eventually moved to Cape Town to pursue his love for the ocean with sailing in the shadows of the famous Table Mountain, where from 18 – 22 years of age, he worked aboard a day-sail charter catamaran. Jaco then entered the world of delivering newly launched catamarans from the builder in Cape Town, to exotic destinations such as La Paz (Baja), Tortola, Croatia, Mallorca, and the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. He has over 85,000 nautical miles of ocean crossings to add to his credit. His career took him to a position as 1st Mate, aboard a 100 foot Sailing Yacht cruising around Germany, Denmark and Holland, and the entire Mediterranean Sea during the summer of 2010. Eventually, Jaco left Italy bound for the British Virgin Islands. Very keen on watersports activities, he enjoys wakeboarding, surfing, sailing, snorkeling, and of course the latest craze - paddle boarding - Anything to do with the ocean.

JENNY GREW UP SAILING ON SYDNEY HARBOUR, AUSTRALIA, competitively racing Lasers for 9 years, before moving onto Moths and other fast sailing dinghy’s. At the age of 15, Jenny saved up and bought her own fist keel boat, a 19 foot Endeavour and took friends out on regular sailing adventures, exploring Sydney Harbour. After school, Jenny worked in Swimming Teaching, Real Estate and began her own company called Jenny’s Gardening. At 20, Jenny’s dreams began to gravitate towards working on the water, and so her 3 year adventure began driving around Australia on a mission to find the most exciting and rewarding job opportunities on the sea. These included a 55 foot racing yacht in the Whitsundays on the Great Barrier Reef; taking guests from all over the world swimming with Whale Sharks on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia; and embracing the opportunity to join a 120ft Tall Ship called the One & All as a Watch Leader in South Australia, focusing on Youth Development. She has earned her commercial captains license and valuable seamanship skills to last a lifetime. At college, Jenny perused a course in Hospitality, and this carried her into cooking onboard charter yachts. She enjoys using fresh local produce and is always playing around with new dishes. Jenny is passionate about cooking healthy food, embracing the delicious natural flavors local produce has to offer. Enjoying sailing, diving, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, wake skating, paddle boarding – and in general, exploring! - Jenny is easily excited and eager to join the guests on their adventures whenever possible. Charter guests will find Jenny is a joy to be on charter with, as you will see she absolutely loves what she does. Her vibrant personality and delicious dishes are inspiring, and guests will love her amazing smile.

A2 Testimonials

Guests aboard A2 with Jaco & Jenny in early June, 2016 say:

The trip was unbelievable!! Everything we expected and more!! Jaco and Jenny’s hospitality skills are unmatched!! They really make you feel like you are leaving newly found friends at the end of the cruise which makes leaving even sadder.  Everything was 5 stars; amenities, customer service, food, location, etc. No complaints at all. Would love to do it again one day.

Guests aboard A2 in early January, 2016, said:

Our family of six, two middle age parents, our tow kids in their late 20's with significant others just finished a cruise with Jenny and Jaco on the A2. Everyone said they want to cruise again but only if we can go with Jenny and Jaco on A2.

We had a tremendous time. For brevity, I will refer to Jenny and Jaco as "the crew", but they were so much more. As you would expect the crew attended to our every need and wish. The food was amazing and made to order (make sure Jenny makes sliders). The boat is spotless. The berths, heads, and shower areas are well laid out and spacious.

The crew were what made our trip so special. They wanted to make sure we enjoyed every aspect of the trip. They told us where we were going, what we were seeing along the way and the background on what were doing. They took us to great snorkeling spots and Jenny was a good guide.

Can't speak highly enough about the A2 experience!

Guests aboard A2 with Jaco and Jenny in July of 2015 -

We just finished what we all proclaimed to be the best family vacation. Hard to top because we have been on some great ones. The A2 was a beauty. Cabins were spacious, the boat was well stocked and so clean. However, a trip this perfect couldn't be accomplished if it wasn't for our captain Jaco and 1st mate Jenny. The sailing was relaxing, the island choices for water sports Jaco hit the mark. We are still overwhelmed by Jenny and her well organized meals that were truly a work of art, with all food choices on point. Our kids were amazed at how she could whip up a delicious breakfast only to find our cabins already cleaned with beds made up after promptly finishing. They both were a true pleasure to be around and we all had tears in our eyes when we had to say goodbye.
Our family would love to experience another A2 charter if you would be opened to going to other islands, such as St Lucia or St Martin.
Thank you once again to Jaco and Jenny, for a seamless vacation.

Cheers,
All the Cullinans
