AMANZI Crew Profile

Lenka, our hostess, is 29 years old and comes from The Czech Republic. She was working for over 5 years in the golf sector in Prague, organising tournaments, as well as teaching golf and decided on a career change a couple of years ago. Needless to say she is a very talented player too!

At 26, she decided to move to the Canaries, to pursue her true passion of cooking and working in the restaurant business. Whilst there she discovered sailing. First on a small 4m boat and then on a large 54m boat. The bug bit and then it was a full time career in yachting, combining food and sailing. Spending extensive time in the Caribbean and on Atlantic crossings, she fell in love with the ocean and boats.

“I am happy that I can join all my loves in my work, like sailing, travelling, cooking and taking care of people. The most important thing for me, is happy clients, with a tummy full of great food, loving their charter”.

Ben Marincowitz, our skipper, was born in South Africa 35 years ago. He started sailing as a kid and has been doing it professionally for the last 12 years, allowing him to indulge in his enjoyment of travel and exploring new places. He has a little over 100 000 nm under his belt, not an insignificant amount!

When 26, he was contacted by an old friend, from the South African Navy and started delivering new boats out of SA, mainly to the Caribbean, USA and South East Asia. Two and a half years ago he left South Africa and has been sailing around the Caribbean ever since, doing yacht deliveries and charters.

He really enjoys mixing his passion for the sea with his passion for the discovery of new places. His laid back persona, guarantees a very relaxed charter, with huge experience to call upon, at every level.

Ben and Lenka, look forward to welcoming you aboard, they will be doing their best to make your time on Amanzi, very special.
