Crew

Thomas Chubb

Captain

Tom is a dual national British / Australian. A fun, approachable and conscientious captain whose early career as a dinghy and keelboat instructor sailing on the south coast of the UK led him to working professionally full time at sea. In 2007 Tom obtained his Commercial RYA/MCA 200gt Masters qualification and found employment as a delivery Captain, delivering a variety of yachts between 30ft and 70ft between ports in the Mediterranean, Atlantic and North Sea. A chance encounter with the Superyacht Industry led Tom to be employed as Captain of his first Superyacht in 2008. Tom now has 7 years’ experience as a captain aboard a variety of private and commercial motor and sailing yachts which have taken him to the cruising destinations of the Mediterranean, Caribbean, South Pacific and South East Asia. Tom has sailed countless ocean miles, visited many countries and has extensive knowledge of some of the world’s best ports and most special anchorages. A period ashore in New Zealand saw Tom learning the trade of yacht rigging and due to this and his previous experiences, he has a wealth of maritime knowledge and seamanship which ensures the safety of his guests and the professional up keep of the yacht. A sailor and adventurer, Tom has an infectious passion for the ocean, both above and below the waterline. An open water diver Tom enjoys scuba diving, especially with local guides to ensure the best locations and sights are on offer to the yachts guests. When not entertaining, passing on knowledge in regards to sailing or seamanship, Tom’s favourite pastime is fishing. Helping guests or the Chef land their dinner if fish is desired, or catch and release game fishing when on passage, both options are just some of his favourite ways to add that little something extra to what will already be an unforgettable holiday experience at sea.

Born in the ‘City of Sails’, Auckland, and raised in the remote Whangaroa fishing Harbour of New Zealand’s far north, it is no surprise that Alyce would find a career working on the ocean. Alyce has for the past 6 years been working aboard some of the world’s finest Superyachts firstly as a Stewardess and in more recent years aboard sailing yachts as the Chef. She shares her passion for what she does by executing exceptional levels of service to her guests ensuring the most memorable holiday for everybody on board. Whether a sunny breakfast, an informal beach BBQ or formal dining under the stars, Alyce will enjoy catering to your tastes. She is inspired by local and seasonal ingredients, picking the best of local produce and integrating these into her dishes to give her guests a true culinary experience.
