Crew Profile

The Crew:
Boris and Marina are eager to share their experience and local knowledge with you and show you a safe but exciting vacation, be it anchoring in a quiet cove or exploring the nightlife ashore. They will make you feel at home aboard the Arctic Queen, doing everything with a lot of care and attention. Together on deck and in the kitchen, they make a highly professional team whose only concern is to give you the most memorable holiday.
Specializing in finding those secluded, out of the way anchorages and deserted beaches, they are confident they can provide a unique vacation adapting the sailing route to your wishes.

Skipper:
Boris Vrhovac, born 1979 in Zagreb, Croatia, has been sailing since he was a boy. First with his parents and as he grew older he continued to sail with his friends. After his first job as a skipper when he was 19, he knew that this was exactly what he wanted to do in life. He has therefore been working as a skipper ever since.
Boris completed his MCA/RYA Yacht Master Offshore based in the Solent, UK and holds D2 Basic Safety (STCW) Certificate. He is a fluent English speaker and can get by in Italian, French and German.
His passions for the sea, nice food and fine wine are easily contagious; Boris will make just anyone fall in love with his world. He has a calm nature which makes him pleasant to be around and which enables him to keep a cool head to handle any situation that could occur.

Hostess:

Marina Andrijasevic was born in1982 in Zagreb,Croatia. From her early age she was drawn to the art of food preparation and didn’t take long before she was pulled in and is still mesmerized by it.
While in college, she started working in her father’s restaurants where Marina discovered her passion for cuisine both traditional and modern. Since then her love for cooking drove her to constantly improve her skills and broaden her menu repertoire.
Marina is fluent in English & Italian. She is a bachelor of visual communication & graphic design, graduated at Academia Italiana/Firenze. Being equally in love with Croatian landscapes, sea and cuisine, becoming a hostess for Adriatic Sailing was a very natural thing to do.Marina’s mission is making your holiday on Adriatic Queen the best you ever had - a truly royal experience.

From Jorge, ARCTIC QUEEN  CHARTER PERIOD: July 25 - Aug  1, 2015

…”What made our week so unforgettable in addition to the Arctic Queen and her crew?  A combination of unforgettable experiences that cannot be replicated   anywhere else in the world.  First, the incredible beauty of the Dalmatian Coast is simply stunning. Clean, clear blue water, comfortably swimmable even in October, surrounds the Croatian archipelago.  Each island we visited has its own unique     culture, landscape and history which Boris recounted in fascinating detail. Second, Boris introduced us to Croatia’s vibrant wine industry and varied local cuisine.  We visited four wineries, each unique, but all warmly welcoming us with delicious wines and hors d’oeuvres.”

Boris & Jackie

We are home safe and sound and back to work as I write. Thank you again for a wonderful sailing trip. My whole family had an amazing time sailing with you both in Croatia. We enjoyed all the cities and bays we stopped at along the way Boris. Thank you both for setting up all our on land activities as they all went wonderful. Even after you dropped us all you had our day trip all setup for the waterfalls. The family enjoyed them very much and the taxi driver was very good, thanks. Jackie thank you so much for spoiling us with your great service and amazing food. We are going to miss that very much. I just wanted to say thank you again for a wonderful trip and we hope to see you both sometime in the near future.

Keep in touch, take care
