Captain: Peter Martin, South Africa
Peter is well known from the charter yacht UNFORGETTABLE where he was Captain for over 7 years. He did have a brief break from the yacht when he had the pleasure of being the build Captain on the 132’ Broward named SERQUE.
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, he spent his vacations on the Cape where he found his love for the ocean. After working in the service industry for his early years he quickly found himself in management positions.
After managing many successful nightclubs and restaurants he finally opened his own Portuguese restaurant with a childhood friend. After four years of the restaurant business he moved to Florida where he discovered the yachting industry.
For the last 12+ years he has traveled extensively on the East coast of the US, Bahamas and Caribbean. He is very competent and enthusiastic and loves utilizing his hospitality background on charters. Peter is currently completing his Master 3000-ton license with the MCA.First Officer: Chase Cunningham, South Africa
Chase grew upon the east coast of Durban, South Africa. Once he completed high school Chase had the desire to travel and explore the globe. This led him into the world of yachting where he began his journey on the docks of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Chase has always had a passion for the ocean and this shows in the many different sporting activities he enjoys such as diving, surfing, swimming and fishing.
Since Chase began yachting he has completed his yacht master 200-ton license and is currently in the process of completing his OOW 3000-ton license. Within the 5 years that Chase has been in the industry he has traveled to many places such as South East Asia and Indonesia. Chase is a fun, loving and energetic crew member who is great with guests and is an asset to the ARIOSO crew.
Engineer: Christiaan Olivier, America
Having grown up and lived in Cape Town most of his life, Christiaan always had a passion for the ocean. He went on to study Management Accounts and proceeded to complete his postgraduate in Entrepreneur Management. Christiaan spent close to ten years in the film industry, shooting commercials and putting his management skills to the test.
Christiaan decided a change of scenery was overdue. He jumped onto a 40ft Catamaran along with two other crew and sailed from Cape Town to the USA. The crossing took 45 days!
Christiaan joined yachting in 2008 and has since gained his Yacht master 200ton, ACE license and is working towards his Y3 engineering qualifications.
Christiaan has traveled extensively, including Argentina where he leant to speak fluent Spanish. His hobbies include surfing, hiking, camping and the general outdoors. He also owns his own mobile coffee tuk-tuk in Cape Town.
Christiaan is a great asset to Yacht Arioso and looks forward to making your vacation one of the best.
Chef: Jerry Pond, America
Jerry, a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, has moved quickly through the ranks of the food service industry. Capitalizing on not just his baking and cooking skills, but also his managerial abilities, Jerry relocated from Boston to Fort Lauderdale over ten years ago to open the successful and award winning Stork's Bakery. Prior to joining the crew of ARIOSO, Jerry was onboard the popular charter yacht UNFORGETTABLE, and prior to that he was operating as a freelance restaurant consultant in South Florida.
Bringing his expansive skill set into the world of yachting presented him with yet another unique career opportunity: a perfect environment to showcase his talents and love of all things culinary on an intimate and personal level.
A self-professed "foodnerd," he takes special delight in introducing guests to new cuisines and the reinvention of familiar ones. Jerry placed 1st in the 101'-160' yacht division Concours de Chef Contest in Antigua 2012.
Chief Stewardess: Bronwyn Martin, South Africa
Born and raised on the Wild Coast of South Africa, Bronwyn always had a passion for the open seas. In 2008 Bronwyn entered yachting and most of her experience ranges from 50m to 88m yachts. Bronwyn holds her "Medical Persons Onboard" and "Medical Person In Charge" certificate and is well qualified in service skills, bar-tending, event organizing and catering to all the guests needs. Bronwyn led her team to win the Antigua “Table Setting” contest in 2012, competing with vessels ranging from 100ft to 160ft.
Creating good memories and designing fantastic theme evenings for guests to enjoy is the best part of yachting for her. Bronwyn is an amateur horticulturist with a penchant for flower arranging. She dreams of one day opening her own florist shop in South Africa to continue bringing joy to people. Bronwyn also enjoys reading, scubadiving and painting in her free time. With Bronwyn's friendly personality, ARIOSO'S guests are sure to be happy and smiling throughout their charter.
Second Stewardess: Colette Saunt, South Africa
Colette grew up in Durban, South Africa. After attending high school, she graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting and Entrepreneurship. After Colette’s studies where completed she decided to explore, and travel the world which bought her to Fort Lauderdale and into the yachting industry. Colette has a love for the outdoors and all forms of water sports. Having grown up around the water her entire life, Colette has developed a passion for slalom skiing.
Colette also loves scubadiving, running and being active in the beautiful outdoors. Colette began her yachting career at the beginning of 2015, which has taken her to Mexico and now joined the fun and loving team on board ARIOSO. Colette is easy going, fun and energetic who will undoubtedly provide you with the best possible experience.
Deck Stewardess: Mackenzie Sedelbauer, USA
MacKenzie was born in Michigan but has spent the majority of her life living in Asheville,NC, which she now considers to be home. Although she loves the arts, beer, and music Asheville has to offer, it was time to travel.
She moved to South Florida to attend the University of Miami, graduating with a major in Political Science and Public Relations. After finishing her studies, Mackenzie moved back to North Carolina to begin her career in advertising. She accepted her first job as a project manager at an advertising agency called Element Advertising. After leaving her position at the agency, she began her career in yachting. With over 8 years of restaurant and hospitality experience, MacKenzie quickly transitioned into her stewardess role. She thoroughly enjoys interacting with guests and providing the best service.
In her free time, she loves anything that involves being outside, especially lounging on beach, snowboarding, hiking, and scuba diving.
