AZURIA Crew Profile

Stewart and Donne’ Evans have strong roots in Africa having spent their formative years in Namibia and Zambia. They have retained their home of twenty five years in Hout Bay outside of Cape Town, South Africa where they spend a few months each summer with family and friends.
Stewart has been passionate about boats and the sea from an early age. During his youth he was actively involved in the Sea Scouts, competetive Surf Life Saving, Club Racing and SCUBA. In 2004, having sold a successful business he founded 20 years previously, Stewart decided to follow his passion and aquired his first sailing catamaran, a Privilege 435. He and Donne` set off on a four year voyage of discovery during which time they discovered the beauty of the Virgin Islands. In 2010 they commissioned the building of AZURIA, a 54 foot CNB Lagoon sailing catamaran for the purpose of charter in the Virgin Islands.
Donne’ pursued her love of horses and successfully competed in the discipline of Dressage. Having travelled the globe extensively, her cuisine is influenced by many nations and cultures. She honed her cooking skills at the renowed Sense of Taste Culinary School in Cape Town and she enjoys offering her guests a selection of her favourite dishes.
Stewart and Donne` are both ASA certified yacht skippers who together have been cruising and racing monohulls and catamarans since 1982 and have logged over 25 000 nautical miles. As experienced and competent sailors and with their commitment to quality and personal service, they will provide you with all the ingredients for a memorable yachting vacation.
This charismatic and fun loving couple who enjoy the ocean, the outdoors and making new friends, consider life on board AZURIA to be both a privilege and an adventure to be shared with others.

AZURIA Testimonials
Dear Donne & Stewart,
Sandra and I are now back into our normal lives here in the UK following our fabulous holiday touring some of the beautiful Virgin Islands aboard your simply fabulous yacht, Azuria.
When we booked the holiday, with this being a “special Birthday occasion” we were determined that if the holiday was to be on board a yacht then we wanted it to be “special”,without hesitation and after seeing other charter yachts we can safely say we made the right decision to book Azuria. The accommodation is to a very high standard and without doubt we now realise it could have been equally luxurious had there been 6 of us rather than 2 of us! (Next time the yacht will be full!)
Any “special”holiday no matter what the accommodation standards is in our opinion made“special” by the atmosphere created by the hosts. As you know this was our first experience of a holiday aboard a catamaran and for that matter in the Virgin Islands, and we were apprehensive as to what to expect. What we experienced was complete flexibility in terms of the islands we visited, the time spent both sailing and at anchor and enjoying everything from snorkelling to simply sunbathing on deck or visiting just about every type of beach from un-spoilt and deserted to trendy and full of atmosphere.
Stewart, many thanks for the use of all of the “water toys” you have aboard Azuria and for showing us how to enjoy them, and also for being our “dingy chauffer” dropping us at beaches and bars and restaurants as required throughout the stay. You even made it so simple to get to and from the airport which took away any challenges!!
Donne & Stewart, you completely spoilt us with such fabulous food during the trip, it now seems very strange here in real life not enjoying one of your crazy cocktails early in the evening before sitting down to dine on the out on deck whilst moored in some of the most idyllic locations in the world to enjoy food that would be the envy of most upmarket hotels.
Lastly (and most importantly), time with you two was a pleasure, thank you for leaving us space to enjoy our own company when required, but to be honest it was having you two as our hosts (and by the end of the trip as our friends) that made the whole experience so very special. We cannot wait to return to Azuria and see some more of the beautiful Virgin Islands.
See you soon and take care.
Richard and Sandra-England
Hi, Stewart and Donne', We had a wonderful week with you!!!! Thank you for all your efforts and considerations. I could not think of a better crew for a week of sailing, diving and FUN! Everything was terrific. Didn't really mind the "Christmas Winds"!!! Yes, it is true, we did arrive as guests and depart as friends!!! We were truly sincere when we invited you to our home if you have the chance. We have accommodations for you and promise you a car to drive to see all the sights! Soooo, if the opportunity presents itself, please give a phone call. I really don't know anything you could do to make the trip more enjoyable. It was WONDERFUL! Loved all of Donne's cooking, so fresh and healthy. Carol and I both brought home a bottle of Black Strap Rum as we remembered how fabulous it was with the Mango Sorbet. It was very nice of you to take the charter at relatively the last minute. We really appreciate your efforts to make it happen! We do thank you for all the trouble picking up the tanks and dive gear at Red Hook. Thank you for all your efforts to make the diving and snorkelling be just remarkable............the Indians were unbelieveable and the wreck was simply amazing, especially the condition of it. We all loved it, but Jordyan especially. Both Jordyan and Peter enjoyed the diving very much. I hope you both are enjoying some down time and warm, sunny Carribbean breezes. As I look at the photos, I just smile and they give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. What a lucky lady I am, and what a great Christmas present the trip was for all of us. Thank you, MY FRIENDS. Stay in touch. Hugs, Jenny & Guy
