Chartering in the East Mediterranean and the West Mediterranean

Operating in the East Mediterranean and the West Mediterranean

Balladeer was shown at the 2015 Southampton boat show, she is hull no.12 of the Jeanneau 64.

Every Jeanneau Yacht is designed to be a sailor’s boat, and the Jeanneau 64 is no exception. This flagship is secure, fast, and enjoyable to sail. Philippe Briand has delivered a modern hull that incorporates a hard chine for increased speed, stability, and interior volume.

She takes 6 guests in 3 cabins, the interior was custom made for this owner with a huge forward owners suite with en-suite, that has a large double bed to starboard and a second double bed to port making it a perfect family cabin, in the rear there is 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin both with en-suites. She has air-conditioning throughout, water-maker and generator.

She has been fitted with in boom furling, giving you a fully battened mainsail for more sailing pleasure. In the cockpit, she has a spray hood and bimini, 2 cockpit tables & 2 L shape sofas that can convert into sun beds. Balladeer's 2 crew, captain & chef/hostess, will make sure you are well looked after; keeping the boat in immaculate condition, providing delicious meals and showing you the most beautiful anchorages, crystal clear waters, historic towns or secluded bays. The crew cabin is in the bow and accessed from the foredeck.

All interior photos on this page are of Balladeer and the exterior photos are from the Jeanneau 64 catalogue, these will be updated to photos of Balladeer over the summer.

Crew Profile

Captain: Dean Pettipher (32)

Dean started work on the River Thames from the age of 16. It is big family tradition to work there and he followed in his Grandfather’s footsteps. He studied for 6 years in his apprenticeship to become a Waterman & Lighterman of the River Thames. In doing this he was eligible to Row Doggetts Coat and Badge which is one of the longest skulled races in the World. From there he moved on to commercial and private charter vessels and cruised the Mediterranean, Caribbean and part of the US East Coast.

Cook/First mate: Becky Guile (37)

Becky grew up on the Isle of Wight and learnt to sail in Lasers from the Island Sailing Club in Cowes. She was a Dental Nurse for many years before moving to the Marine Industry 5 years ago. She has been to the Ashburton Cooking & Chef School, the Four Seasons Cooking Academy and a 2 day challenge course in local wild food. As well as cooking on the yachts the last 4 years she also used to cater at the owners house for up to 12 guests. Becky showcases her cooking using fresh local ingredients.

Dean & Becky are a fun and motivated couple, they have worked on yachts together for the last 5 years, with a highly diverse itinerary from organising charters to sailing across the Atlantic Ocean.

They join Balladeer in Spring 2018 excited for their new position and busy itinerary seeing them start in the South of France, down the Italian coast to Sicily, Malta and onto Croatia.

Balladeer can take up to 6 guests in 3 cabins, the interior was custom made for this owner with a huge forward owners suite, with a large double bed to starboard and a second double bed to port, in the rear there is 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin both with en-suites.

Luxury charter yacht layout diagram for BALLADEER

August 2017 The time spent on Ballandeer was amazing. The yacht was perfect, new, clan and last but not least, Giulia & Matt. They're the best crew of the entire yachting business. They were absolutely perfect. Efficent, polite, discret and everything else. Matt is a great captain, with a strong passion for his job, Giulia is lovely and a great chef. Absolutely the best crew. Next year i want to do it again, with them of course.

July 2016 - We had a fantastic week on board Balladeer. Seb was a great captain; always willing to let us have a go, patient and hardworking. Lucy is a fantastic cook and goes out of her way to wait upon us ever moment of the day. The fact that we only ate one meal ashore the whole week was a testament to her cooking. We also go our own private, evening yoga session on the beach - although I hobbled around the next day!

The area around northern Sardinia and Corsica was wonderful. Different from the Aegean where we'd sailed before, but full of lovely coves and spots to just pull up and swim. We also hadn't realised that north Sardinia was such a billionaires' playground.

When you next see Seb and Lucy please pass on our thanks and regards

With best wishes, The Davies Family
