Chartering in the West Mediterranean and the East Mediterranean

Operating in the West Mediterranean and the East Mediterranean

Balladeer was shown at the 2015 Southampton boat show, she is hull no.12 of the Jeanneau 64.

Every Jeanneau Yacht is designed to be a sailor’s boat, and the Jeanneau 64 is no exception. This flagship is secure, fast, and enjoyable to sail. Philippe Briand has delivered a modern hull that incorporates a hard chine for increased speed, stability, and interior volume.

She takes 6 guests in 3 cabins, the interior was custom made for this owner with a huge forward owners suite with en-suite, that has a large double bed to starboard and a second double bed to port making it a perfect family cabin, in the rear there is 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin both with en-suites. She has air-conditioning throughout, water-maker and generator.

She has been fitted with in boom furling, giving you a fully battened mainsail for more sailing pleasure. In the cockpit, she has a spray hood and bimini, 2 cockpit tables & 2 L shape sofas that can convert into sun beds. Balladeer's 2 crew, captain & chef/hostess, will make sure you are well looked after; keeping the boat in immaculate condition, providing delicious meals and showing you the most beautiful anchorages, crystal clear waters, historic towns or secluded bays. The crew cabin is in the bow and accessed from the foredeck.

All interior photos on this page are of Balladeer and the exterior photos are from the Jeanneau 64 catalogue, these will be updated to photos of Balladeer over the summer.

Crew Profile

Luxury charter yacht crew for BALLADEER
Captain: Matt Arnold (25)

Matt is a 25 year old Englishman who has been sailing the ocean since 2013, crossing the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea.

Matt is a keen sportsman with interests in rugby and tennis, playing both to a high standard at club and country. He loves to enjoy new experiences and adventures including hiking, mountaineering and ski touring.

He has achieved all the necessary RYA/MCA qualifications.

Matt began his career in Gibraltar in 2013, completing the YM Offshore course to a high standard, sailing around Gibraltar, Spain, Morocco and Portugal. Following completion, Matt became a skipper of yachts ranging from 45 - 55 feet in Croatia and sailing the Adriatic Sea. Matt became a Deckhand in November 2014, crossing the Atlantic and Mediterranean and sailing the Caribbean. Prior to working on Balladeer, Matt worked as First Mate on Antara, running all deck related aspects and a team of two deckhands. After an extensive shipyard period throughout the winter, including completing Antara’s 25 year survey, he quickly launched into an extensive Med season with charters and owner trips.

Matt’s skills extend beyond skippering of the boat to include looking after guests in every aspect of their holiday, providing tour guidance with recommendations of local restaurants and activities. He is also qualified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. He is a charming, organised and an enthusiastic person never without a smile and with a lovely sense of humour. Matt also speaks French (conversational).

First Mate/Chef/Hostess: Giulia D’Urbano (22)

Giulia is a 23 year old Italian who speaks fluent English and good Spanish. With her father being a chef based in Vireggio, Italy, Giulia has always had a natural interest in cooking and is experienced with healthy, Mediterranean style food. Prior to Giulia’s sailing career, she was a Nanny for two young children which involved entertaining and preparing meals and also worked as a Waitress for Hotel Du Vin, a 4 star hotel in Italy.

Giulia became an experienced crew chef on both a large Motor Yacht and on board Antara. She went from Crew Chef/Sole Stewardess to 2nd Stewardess and also took care of the owner of a Yacht called My Duke Town which involved organising meals and canapés for the owner and guests. Following this role, Giulia was then promoted to Chief Stewardess and in charge of two stewardesses, involving keeping the crew motivated at all times and providing excellent service for all meals and housekeeping. We can say on all levels, Giulia provides a first class service to all crew and guests lucky enough to go onboard.

In her spare time, Giulia loves to experience new communities and cultures and has recently explored Central America and South East Asia. She also enjoys yoga, scuba diving and hiking. Giulia is warm, happy, enthusiastic and accelerates on any challenge presented to her.

She can take up to 8 guests in 3 cabins, the interior was custom made for this owner with a huge forward owners suite with double en-suite (his & hers bathrooms), that has a large double bed to starboard and a second double bed to port making it a perfect family cabin, in the rear there is 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin both with en-suites.

Luxury charter yacht layout diagram for BALLADEER

July 2016 - We had a fantastic week on board Balladeer. Seb was a great captain; always willing to let us have a go, patient and hardworking. Lucy is a fantastic cook and goes out of her way to wait upon us ever moment of the day. The fact that we only ate one meal ashore the whole week was a testament to her cooking. We also go our own private, evening yoga session on the beach - although I hobbled around the next day!

The area around northern Sardinia and Corsica was wonderful. Different from the Aegean where we'd sailed before, but full of lovely coves and spots to just pull up and swim. We also hadn't realised that north Sardinia was such a billionaires' playground.

When you next see Seb and Lucy please pass on our thanks and regards

With best wishes, The Davies Family
