BLUE PASSION Crew Profile

Captain Greg Langridge
Born in St Albans in the UK, Greg started sailing from the age of 10 and gained his RYA Offshore Yachtmaster (Commercially Endorsed) qualification when he was 18.
Greg has worked on a number of different boats, including North Sea hydrographic survey boats, undertaking sea trials on Round The World Challenge boats and as the delivery skipper on a wide variety of boats to different Mediterranean locations.
He also spent several seasons as a flotilla skipper in Greece and Croatia, gaining his Cruising Instructors qualification along the way.
Greg is a qualified PADI Dive Master. For guests wishing to dive, rendezvous diving can be arranged with a local dive company for dives around the beautiful reefs and bays in the Caribbean. The underwater environment is a beautiful but fragile one and he supports the PADI AWARE project which seeks to conserve the underwater environment for others to enjoy..
Greg's dream has always been to own his own luxury yacht charter company. A year spent in the Caribbean as skipper on a luxury 57' catamaran gave him a real insight into what makes a successful and enjoyable sailing holiday for people and he has used this knowledge and experience to set up Blue Passion Sailing with his partner Vanessa.
Hostess / Chef Vanessa Bruc
Born in Brest, North West Brittany, Vanessa started sailing on Hobie catamarans in France and since meeting Greg, she has developed a love of and passion for sailing, gaining a huge amount of experience on boats of different sizes and in different countries.
As an experienced chef, Vanessa likes to use local fresh food wherever possible to produce beautifully cooked meals for her guests.
As First Mate, she is able to assist Greg in sailing the boat when necessary as she holds the MCA STCW 95 and the RYA Powerboat certificate.
The experience of working as hostess aboard a 57' luxury catamaran in the Caribbean with Greg proved invaluable in setting up Blue Passion Sailing – recognising and providing those special touches that make a sailing holiday on board Blue Passion a truly memorable experience.
Together, they make an excellent team, both sharing the same passion for sailing – living the dream!

Thank you so much for a week full of discovery, great times, divine food and great company. Your baby "Blue Passion" is a beautiful boat and offers every possible convenience and comfort of home. The sailing was great and the memories we have will be always looked upon with fondness. Thanks for being a great crew!!!
We had a great time on blue passion. Vanessa and Greg were great hosts, very mature and concientous. Food was great as was daily routing and all the little small efforts that were made to make our trip special (ie taking photos of us scuba diving, catching fish lunches, etc. Everything was first class. 12-20 March 2011 BVI
I wanted to drop you a line to let you know that we had an amazing vacation with Greg and Vanessa. We love them like family after a week of divine treatment and fabulous camaraderie.
They are the perfect hosts, incredible sailors and made every day an adventure.
We all said it was the most relaxing holiday ever and they made this possible.
Vanessa is a fabulous cook. We are all foodies and she made every meal special and delicious. When it came to allergies, she was on it and made really great alternatives...which of course we all would sample.
The boat was spotless, an absolute dream to be aboard and frankly I was really suprised by the sheer size. We never felt like we were on top of each other. It was a treat to be the best boat in the harbour/anchorage...we were rockstars.
Every day Greg would sit us down and have a plan based on conversations he would have with each of us. We had our list and every day we were checking things off with them and had the best time doing so. It was also a really great way to manage the crowd, we all felt we had a voice but at the same time were surprised with the amazing experiences Greg would create for us.
We will definitely sail with them again.
I spoke with them about an interisland trip through the Caribbean...I think you should reach out to all of your clients and sell this type of adventure. It is unique, off the beaten track and is the type of thing that many people would love to do, especially if they have done the BVI's a few times already.
Another idea I had was that flying via St. Martin would be better then the 12 hour trip each way to the BVI's. It was a pain with ferry's and connections and expensive. Doing a direct flight with a pick up and a 12 hour sail to the BVI's would have been way better. I also think that journey of that size would be really cool for sailors who really want to sail.
Thanks so much for helping to create the best vacation ever...if you ever need a referral, feel free to share this email or have your guests contact me directly.
Best,
Kate, Cam, Gordon, James, Corinna, Brian and Anne
