CAMPAI Crew Profile

Danny Blanchard is the Captain who will welcome you aboard campai. Danny is from Essex in England and has been sailing all his life. His experience ranges from charter and private yachts to working onboard superyachts. Danny has sailed extensively throughout the Mediterranean and the Caribbean and his longer passages include two Atlantic crossings and sailing from Cape Town up to the Azores. In addition to holding his MCA Yachtmaster Offshore license and AEC Engine license, Danny is also a PADI Master Instructor. When not sailing or scuba diving, Danny will still be found in or around the ocean as he is passionate about all things nautical, including wakeboarding, kayaking and surfing. He is always willing to share his stories and experiences on the water with guests. His work experience on both charter and racing yachts has given Danny an excellent background in sailing technique, ocean safety and onboard systems.

Your Chef aboard campai will be Liz Edgar. Liz grew up in the Southwest of England and has been working in high-end hospitality for over 10 years. Liz’s culinary skills have developed to reflect European influences and she takes great pride in producing aesthetically appealing gourmet meals. With her experience as a charter chef in the Caribbean, she has a keen understanding and appreciation of Caribbean cuisine and incorporates these tastes and styles into her cooking. In her rare spare time, Liz enjoys all manner of watersports especially scuba diving for which she holds a PADI Divemaster certification. Prior to yachting she studied Applied Marine Sports Science and Engineering at the University of Plymouth and graduated with a BSc Honours degree.

On board, Danny and Liz are ably supported by Marcie Jo Baldwin, campai’s yacht stewardess and deckhand. Marcie has been on the water sailing and surfing her entire life. Marcie sailed the east coast of Australia and returned to the States to crew on the historic S/y Ticonderoga. Now, after years of racing in classic yacht regattas and cruising waters from Canada to the Caribbean, she has attained her 100-Ton Master Captain’s license. Marcie has a BA in History from the University of North Florida.

Together, campai’s crew of three is a team whose consuming focus is to make charter guests happy and comfortable – whether by leaving them alone to seek out and enjoy their own privacy and serenity or by leading and participating in the unlimited fun and games available in our ocean paradise.
