Captain Jim Kortright:
Born in Florida, USA, in 1963, and holding a Captain's Licence for 30 years. Jim was previously chartering on 85’ Maiora Motor Yacht En’less. When the boat was sold in 2010 Jim joined Caribbean Dreamin. Life long captain / operator of vessels of various types in 20 countries world wide. Vessels captained include - racing yachts - captain or crew in numerous major regattas, including 4 world and 6 national championships in offshore yacht racing. Commercial vessels including large dinner boats, long range 100 passenger fishing boats, commercial fishing boats and oil field support vessels. Jim has a lot of experience with tournament and game fishing with experience on top game boats in USA, Mexico (Caribbean and Pacific) Central and South America, Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, Bahamas, Bermuda, Caribbean, West Africa and Australia. Worked on charter yachts throughout Bahamas, Florida, Caribbean, Central American and through Panama canal twice and US East Coast.
Captain / Mate Don Carlos Arndell
Born and raised on St Maarten, Captain Don is about as Caribbean as you can get. His boating experience began at six years of age when he accompanied his uncle on 12 meter boats, and his love of the ocean began. From there Don was swimming competitively, took up scuba diving and attended the marine youth apprenticeship program. He now holds a USCG 100 Ton license and a local license for St Maarten. Don has a lot of ocean experience as a captain on catamarans, dive boats, tug boats, sail and motor yachts, and knows the waters around St Maarten and the surrounding islands like his own backyard. Don is a Padi rescue diver, has Padi certification as a first responder, has worked as a commercial diver and completed over 4000 dives.
Don is very sociable, loves meeting new people and is fluent in English and Dutch. He can also speak a little Spanish. Don is obviously very knowledgeable about Caribbean and local life on St Maarten.
Stewardess River Arthur:
River was born in 1981 in Australia and dual nationality with England. She has a lot of experience in the hospitality and customer service industries, with over 5 years experience working on motor and sailing charter yachts in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. River also worked for several years as a Nanny and Primary School Teacher's Assistant, and those skills have often come in very helpful on family charters! River has a very friendly personality and charming smile. River loves to travel, and also participates in a lot of active hobbies including Surfing, Swimming, Sea Kayaking, Snowboarding, Dancing (KC dance Academy), Fire twirling
