Captain Bill McGrory
Captain Bill has over three decades of experience in the yachting industry. Raised in Perth, Australia and London, England, Bill learned to sail in the English Channel. He has run charter and private yachts all over the world, from the Great Barrier Reef to uncharted islands in Indonesia, the rugged coast of Croatia and to the well-loved islands of the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Bill loves being on the water and all kinds of boats; he has been known to take local ferry services while on vacation to fully experience the river or shoreline of a new place. Even with his 3,000 ton license, he isn’t all nautical nerd: Bill has a keen sense of humor and a treasure chest of entertaining anecdotes. He loves light aircraft, vintage motorcycles, Samurai movies and renovating his 160 year old house.
First Mate Rian Mackie
Before starting a fishing charter business in his home town of Melbourne, Australia, Rian was a personal trainer, a cabinetmaker and a stonemason. His love of the sea led him into the yachting industry. Rian is a keen videographer, always finding new places to strap a GoPro camera on for fun and record some interesting footage of a trip. As safety officer Rian is always ready and eager to assist crew and guests to ensure that they are safe and taken care of. He enjoys fishing, wake boarding, water sports, playing the drums, and dogs.
Chef Charlie Chin
Charlie’s passion for cooking bloomed making wontons as a child with his grandmother. He studied traditional French and Italian cuisine at Dubrulle Culinary Insititue in Vancouver, Canada. After his training, he cooked in Vancouver’s finest hotels and restaurants and gained valuable culinary experience. Charlie learnt even more about food when he spent a year -by eating his way around the world. He brings all of his knowledge and travels to the table on Cherish II, serving up his fresh twist of traditional and contemporary food styles with a healthy sprinkling of international flair. Charlie works with your dietary requirements and food preferences to dish up the charter menu of your dreams.
Chief Stewardess Kasey Smith
Kasey was born and raised in Newport, Rhode Island. She studied marketing at the University of Rhode Island. Kasey’s first job with the Marriot Hotel Group led her to the USVI. She gained a tremendous amount of experience and she eventually ran her own inn. A consummate hostess, Kasey thrives on creating a good time: she knows an inexhaustible supply of cocktails and has an innate ability to make any time at sea or on land a truly fun time. She loves meeting new people, enjoys music and loves dogs. Kasey enjoys visiting art shows – it inspires her and is evidently the show stopper on her elegant and unique table settings on board Cherish II.
Deckhand Jason Watson
Jason traded his view of computer screens as an IT professional in coastal Durban, South Africa, for the sweeping vistas of the sea. Jason’s yachting travels allow him to indulge his passion for photography. He is always searching for new vantage points and unique angles. He loves all kinds of water sports, from fishing to surfing, jet skiing and paddle boarding. When he is not exploring the waters and bays around Cherish II destinations, he is long boarding and checking out cars.
Stewardess Lee Anne Farrell
Lee Anne was a high-end wedding and events coordinator in Cape Town, South Africa before joining the yachting industry. She has built her career around ensuring her guests have fun in beautiful and unique settings, whether on land or sea. Lee Anne loves going to spas to research ideas and amenities that she can bring on board to Cherish II guests.
