Captain - Pascal Boutry
Nationality- Swiss/South African
Pascal was born in Switzerland and his family moved to Cape town,South Africa when he was just one year old. He grew up within earshot of theocean and spent his youth enjoying having the beach on his doorstep, developinga love for swimming and body boarding.
After starting college studying 2D and 3D Animation And Film, herealized that he needed to see the world. Packing his bags at 19 he left home andstumbled upon the yachting industry whilst in Europe. The very first permanentcrew position he achieved was actually on M.YClaire (named M.Y Iris at thetime) as a deckhand!
His career later took him onto the M/Y Paraffin for 5 years where he travelled to Alaska, centralAmerica, East and West coasts of the United States and the Mediterranean.Following his time there, he joined on the M.YMia Elise as Chief Officer for several years before completing his MastersLicense in 2015.
A great opportunity presented itself with the possibility for Pascalto work for the most successful yacht broker in the world by returning to hisoriginal yacht, this time as the captain. Yachting and sailing since 19 yearsold he is part of the new school of yacht captain coming into the industry.
Chief Engineer - Richard Harvey
Richard wasborn and raised in Cornwall, UK on the coast so inevitably he was destined fora career at sea. Richard started his career by completing a 2 year MarineEngineering course gaining him access into the industry by means of employmentas an engineer on chartered sailing yachts.
Four years on those, followed by another four more years on largemotor and sail yachts gave him the skills required to become a Chief Engineerholding a Y3 qualification.
He has a passion for engineering, coupled with a desire to explorenew places and cultures .His personal interests include sailing, wakeboarding,power boating and motor racing.
Chief Officer - Karl Vanlint
Nationality - British
Karl grew upin Hertfordshire, U.K. Being a landlocked part of the country, the extent ofhis time on the water in his early life extended to family holidays to Cornwallin the South-West of England. He completed a degree in Computer Games Designyet quickly decided that sitting in front of a computer all day wasn't for him.As soon as he graduated he instead started to pursue his new career andambition; working on yachts!
His seven years in the industry has seen him work throughout theCaribbean, Indian Ocean and Europe. He has spent much time in Italy, where hepicked up some of the language. His favorite cruising destination however wouldhave to be the Norwegian fjords.
In 2013/2014 he spent a year at maritime college in order tobecome a deck officer. Karl runs the deck department and works closely withDario and Sammy to ensure that the guests of Claire have the most enjoyable yet safe experience possible.
ChiefStewardess - Nadja Asmus
Nadja was born into a sailing and water sports loving family. Shewas raised in Namibia, Africa and circumnavigated the globe at the age of 14 ona 46ft catamaran. When she turned 18 she completed professional interior &safety training to get her foot into the super yacht industry.
Since then she has been working on yachts up to 180ft as SeniorStewardess, ensuring excellent service, comfort and a holiday to remember.
With her positive attitude towards the yachting world, her passionfor travelling and her motivation towards work, has led her onboard Motor YachtClaire.
Bosun - Jesulito 'Sammy' Samaco
Sammy hails from the Philippines and has been in the yachtingindustry for over 20 years. He Has extensive sailing experience in Europe,Caribbean, Canada, SE Asia and the US. Sammy has sailed around the world twiceon a 154’ sailing schooner Shenandoah.
His staggering amount of knowledge and expertise leads Sammy to bean amazingly qualified Bosun who will ensure that all exterior activities areheld to the highest standards. Anything and everything on deck, Sammy can do;painting, varnishing, splicing, fairing. You name it, he can do it!
Sammy is a proud and dedicated family man and entrepreneur. Heenjoys playing tennis and basketball to keep him fit on his days off.
Second Stewardess - Marylene Bosse
Marylene grew up in Paris, France before moving to California atthe age of 17, where she studied Psychology and Asian History. After graduatingshe moved back to Paris and spent the next 7 years working for a up market5-star hotel located in the Champs Elysees.
Thereafter she was introduced to the yachting industry by a familymember, Marylene started her yachting career on a 40m yacht based in the Southof France. She has had many great opportunities to work and travel ever since,including two Atlantic Crossings on sail yachts as well as backpacking in Asiaand living in Australia.
Marylene enjoys many outdoor activities which include running andwater sports.
Deckhand - Dario Ferguson
Coming fromthe chain of islands known for its sun, sand, and sea... yes, the Bahamas!That’s where Dario grew up spending all his summers snorkeling, spear fishing,or exploring on a dingy.
He always had a passion for the water and as a child wouldfantasize about the super yachts as the pass by. He said to himself that oneday he would be the captain of a super yacht and is now on that journey. That’s how he became a part of the yachtingworld and loves it!
With 4 years’ experience at a five star luxury resort and afriendly personality, he ensures a premium service aboard M/Y Claire.
Chef - Sharon Kull
Sharon Kull was born in Northern Italy. She was raised in Ireland and The UnitedStates. Sharon trained in London,England at Le Cordon Bleu and also did some culinary training in Italy at TorreEl Tartufo. Her passion for food andtravel has brought her around the world studying cultures, food and people,which she adds to her culinary artistry.
While in Italy she lived on the Isle of Capri where she worked atIl Riccios to further he knowledge of fine Italian fare. She has lived inScandinavia, Japan and Mexico. She is proficient in several languages, whichhave proven to be useful on board yachts. Once back in The U.S. She opened The Brockton Villa Restaurant inLa Jolla, California. There, she wasawarded two Silver fork awards and made Traveland Leisure magazine as one of the top one hundred restaurants in Americato have breakfast in.
Sharon’s love for travel and creating great food has brought herto yachting for the last 13 years. Her hobbies and interests include Gastronomy,wine pairing, water sports, interesting people for conversation and good books.
CLAIRE can accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins. The Master cabin has a king size bed, shower and toilet. 3 Guest cabins have a king size bed, shower and toilet. A Guest cabin has a twin bed, shower and toilet. CLAIRE is fully air conditioned through out. Crew has a separate heads and shower.
