CLEVELANDER Crew Profile

Crew Profile
Captain: Jeremy Quince
Jeremy started sailing in the South West of England in the beautiful Torbay where he was an active member of Torquay yacht club regularly racing on Melges24’s, dinghies and offshore on a Sigma38 taking part in many competitions and regattas. It didn’t take long till his love for sailing and boats brought him to full time commit of a life at sea.
His introduction to yachting was on the world famous Whitbread race yacht ‘Steinlager 2’ and since then has worked on a number of prestigious yachts including ‘Mirabella 5’ successfully progressing in the industry. Today he holds a Chief Mate 3000 ton and a Master 200 ton license.
His hobbies include diving, dingy sailing and wake boarding as well as snowboarding and hiking to complete an active life style.
Jeremy is a hard working and sociable individual who wants to ensure that all guests enjoy their time on board.
Chef/Stewardess: Claudia Salomon
Claudia grew up in the German country side with a family who had a strong interest in cooking. Having learned to cook from a young age, she extended her knowledge by traveling the world and attending culinary classes. Fueled by her irrepressible creative spirit, Claudia soon ended up in the galley and hasn’t looked back since. We are proud to announce that Claudia placed 3rd at the 2012 Chef's Competition in Antigua for yachts under 110'.
Her extensive menu is primarily influenced by Mediterranean, Spanish, French and Asian foods. Whilst onboard Claudia will be sure to please your palate with her passion for inventive, yet honest cuisine. She is also a keen sailor, working and traveling on boats for over six years and holds a Yacht master offshore ticket. She is also a Padi Rescue Diver!

CLEVELANDER Testimonials
St. Maarten - Tortola Jan. 2013
The charter was great. The boat is terrific (I've always been partial to Swans) -- it's in great shape and generally very well equipped. We got in some very nice sailing.
And I can't say enough good things about the crew. I didn't realize that we would be Jeremy's first charter as captain -- it was clear at the outset that he was a bit nervous, but he settled in as the charter progressed and we all had a great time. Claudia is about the best on-board chef I have encountered, and she, Jeremy, and Afric (mate) are all such lovely people and enjoy each other's company so much, that it really added to the week. I am hoping to sail with them again.
In fact, I am thinking about chartering it again when they are in Mexico, either later this spring or in the fall. I will be in touch with you once I get a sense from Jeremy whether they will be in La Paz early enough for us to catch them before we get too busy and the weather gets too hot.
Thanks again for all of your help with this, especially in light of the last minute nature of the trip. It's really hard to see how it could have gone better.
Regards,
Andy

New Year 2012/2013
Nick,
We all had a wonderful time on the Clevelander. Thank you for the
recommendation and all you did to help secure it and to suggest an
itinerary.
Simon is a wonderful captain. He is attentive, responsive and
respectful. He is also engaging. he was able to relate to the adults, by
grown daughter and the 16 year old twins.
He arranged a relaxing but entertaining program for us each day.
Claudia is a superb cook. I love good food and we had excellent and
varied menus each night. Her cooking is original and delicious. She is a
very pleasant person, always smiling and cheerful.
Her cooking a special bonus. These are not casual comments. She is
really good!
Jeremy is also a very good mate and will likely be a very good captain
too. he related to the twins easily and they all enjoyed the diving
expedition.
The Clevelander is a fine boat. It is well maintained and sails well. It
is just the right boat for our a family group of our size.

Hello Simon!
Thank you for a wonderful week aboard Clevelander. We really enjoyed the sailing , the good food and the service that you all provided.
We are now in St Barth, lots of winds and grey skies, probably the same as you have on your way to Antigua. So we were lucky with the weather in BVI.
I appreciate your offer and I would love to stay one night at Clevelander hotel!

Simon,
Fortunately the weather in Holland has been excellent, 26C and no cloud. Not a sight of turquoise waters though.....
It does not look like the dates for this early summer will work out. However we do not give up easily and are keen to repeat our very enjoyable Clevelander experience in the Mediterranean.
We hope your preparations for the transatlantic crossing will be smooth. Jordan asked if there is any way to track your progress on google earth or similar during the crossing. He has been wearing his dinghy captain shirt non stop and was busy speculating which transatlantic route you would take on the flight tracker on our way back.
Leah prepared eggs for breakfast (first time it ever happened thanks to Katherine's setting the bar so high) with a whole decoration.
Please give again our thanks to Katherine and Kelly for their superb company.
All the best,
Armin

Just a quick note to thank you for all the arrangements now that we are back in Holland. The Inn at English Harbor was great and we even met some friends from Italy. Clevelander more than surpassed our expectations. The crew was fantastic, Simon a pleasure to be with, and Katherine worthy of any Michelin star on land let alone on a boat. Kelly really helpful and kind.
Not a drop of rain to top it off.
Warm regards.
