Cuan Law is the largest sailing trimaran in the world, and she's not like any other liveaboard dive boat you've encountered. Custom designed for luxury liveaboard diving and sailing by owner/designer Duncan Muirhead in 1988, and refit and redecorated on annual basis, Cuan Law spans 105 feet in length and 44 feet in width. Two 103' masts spread 5,200 square feet of sail over the massive deck. Her size and the triple hull design provide extreme stability, both at anchor and while underway. The Cuan Law crew will make you feel right at home the minute you step foot onboard.

CUAN LAW Crew Profile
Emily Parsons - Captain
Emily grew up on Tortola but went to the UK for school and college. After
graduating as a Zoologist, she came straight home to the warmth of the
BVI and became a diving instructor and has been teaching for the last 4
years. Emily first started work on Cuan about 10 years ago as a stewie in
her Summer holidays. Since then she’s been the dive instructor and first
mate onboard and has worked her way up to captain. When not on Cuan
Law Emily keeps herself busy with Judo and fixing up her own sailboat.
She’s already ventured to Thailand, Egypt, Honduras, Bermuda, amongst
others and once her boat is ready she’ll be off sailing round the world!
Scott Ferris - Stand by Captain
Scott first worked with us as a relief steward in 1999, since then we have
enjoyed each others company regularly and in various capacities. He is
currently Relief Captain having trained Emily up as Captain, but gets in
the water and leads a dive whenever he can convince people to follow
him. In between sessions aboard the Cuan Law he has traveled
extensively and basically avoided work and commitments along the way,
this results in numerous tall tales (mauled by a tiger in Thailand and
chased by an elephant in Laos amongst others), and in between, the
mutually beneficial ability to hang out cruising the BVI on Cuan Law.
Scott is also a great photographer. He is standing beside one he took
from the mast head of Cuan Law, which is hung on board.
Jesse Macnaughton - Engineer
Jesse was born in Arkansas, USA, but has spent much of his adult life
traveling extensively in South and Latin America. He has worked as a
dive instructor and engineer on live-aboards and private yachts in Florida
and the nearby areas. From his time in Latin America he has learnt to
speak Spanish and has acquired a taste for spicy food. When not at work
he is always searching for the next set of waves; as well as his aquatic
lifestyle of surfing and diving Jesse can be found hiking the South
American mountains.
Tara Phelan - Chef
Tara grew up in London, England. Over the last 10 years Tara has
travelled extensively working as a chef and diving instructor around
Europe and the Caribbean. When Tara is not playing in the sun, she can
be found spending time in the mountains skiing and rafting. She has
finally settled here on Cuan. Hopefully her reputation of category 5
hurricanes following her will end now.
Ben Steinberger - Chief Diver
Ben is a Scuba Instructor, born and raised in New York City. After
graduating with his Bachelors Degree in History and Anthropology, he
managed a Dive shop in Manhattan for two years. He has extensive
knowledge of Northeast United States Diving as well as Scuba
Equipment. In the summer of 2010 he joined the crew of Cuan Law to
continue his exploration of the Caribbean waters, both above and below.
Since joining Cuan Law Ben has become an avid sailor and has taken an
interest in the engineering side of the boat as well. All’s well until he
becomes injured, again... Ben has been to 6 continents and wants to
continue his lifestyle of travel and adventure for years to come and
follow his passion for photography.
Brian Manning - Steward
Brian is a true product of California, he’s as cool as the other side of the
pillow!! Since joining Cuan Law in 2011 as a steward, Brian has fast
become an integral member of the Cuan way. In addition to making
excellent Bushwhackers, Brian loves taking guests out on our Hobie Cats
and leading walking expeditions for the perfect view of the sunset. Brian
studied Aerospace Engineering before coming down the BVI and plans to
return to this field of expertise if he ever leaves the sun and sea. In
addition to Sailing and Diving he loves Mountain Biking and jamming on
his Baby Grand! Brian has excelled in his time on board the boat and will
be one of the youngest guys you know with a comb-over. He is now a
Dive Master and intends to go for his Instructo
