SCOTT FERRIS - CAPTAIN

Scott first worked with us as a relief steward in 1999, since then we have enjoyed each others company regularly and in various capacities. He is currently engineer, but gets in the water and leads a dive whenever he can convince people to follow him. In between sessions aboard the Cuan Law he has traveled extensively and basically avoided work and commitments along the way, this results in numerous tall tales (mauled by a tiger in Thailand and chased by an elephant in Laos amongst others), and, in between, the mutually beneficial ability to hang out cruising the BVI on Cuan Law. Scott is also a great photographer. He is standing beside one he took from the mast head of Cuan Law, which is hung on board.

KAT BUNTING - CHEF

Kat is our very own born and bred Essex girl who joined Cuan Law in January 2007 and despite various excursions to other islands, we don't seem to be able to get rid of her! She grew up on the estuary of the river Blackwater where she learnt to sail, and from an early age developed a love for frolicking on the waves. Kat graduated university in 2004 with a degree in psychology and left the UK to travel.

She is now Cuan's chef. Having graduated from Rosie Davies school of cookery and learnt a few tricks from our past Chefs, she'll make sure you get a ‘gourmet’ meal three times a day. As a diving instructor, she also finds every opportunity to accompany dives!

EMILY PARSONS - DIVER

Emily earned the nick name 'Miss P' 10 years ago when she first came aboard Cuan as a stewie, and surprisingly it stuck!! 'Miss P' has worked on Cuan during her Summer holidays on and off since then. She grew up on Tortola but was shipped off to UK for school and uni. After graduating as a Zoologist, she came straight home and became a diving instructor and has now been teaching for 2 years. Off Cuan 'Miss P' keeps herself busy with Judo and fixing up her own sailboat. Eventually she'll set sail and who knows where she'll end up!

PETER EDWARDS - DIVER

Born in Wales he left as soon as he could. He learnt to dive at the age of eleven and has been doing so ever since, he turned pro ten years ago. He loves diving, sailing, dancing and playing his guitar, sometimes altogether! He loves the BVI so much it is his third time here.

AMY WICKHAM - STEWARDESS

Amy is the product of a Lammer Law marriage and was born and raised on Tortola. She left for England at the age of 10 to return for the first time 12 years later to discover her roots. Having just finished a degree in Textile Design, her life on the ocean wave is a welcome contrast as she is learning to sail and dive as the first ‘second’ generation crew member. As one of the quieter members of crew, (Scott is gradually pulling her out of her shell) she still knows how to have a good time! One of Amy’s favourite roles as stewardess is being flung off Cuan Law from the deck whilst holding onto a rope. She is the 4th person to be flung 40 seconds into this video, and yes, that is her screaming!

MELISSA PHILLIPS -STEWARDESS

A
s a BVI Islander, Melissa has spent her life on the water. After a sailing trip took her from Australia to Thailand she traded in her adventures for a job closer to home. Melissa became a U.S Sailing instructor and spent the summer teaching at the Royal B.V.I Yacht Club. Deciding to take another year off school she joined the crew on Cuan Law and has been a stewie ever since. Although Melissa's position can keep her below deck she loves giving sailing lessons on our Hobie 13's and makes a mean cocktail.

K
ELLIE MOORE -STEWARDESS

A newcomer to Tortola, Kellie finds herself with lingering American sensibilities, which would not include a love for cheeseburgers (though she is known consume cheese alone in masses). Graduating with a degree in painting and printmaking, and with nearly a decade of working with pottery, she has a passion for all art forms... arranging coconut people on the beach is amongst the newest. Happy to seek out the natural wonders of the BVI, she's sure to be a good companion for exploring on Cuan Law's "Baths" walk or for a long snorkel amongst our beautiful waters.
