Chartering in the Bahamas and the Caribbean

Operating in the Bahamas and the Caribbean

With a name that conveys delight, DELICIA is just that - a delight in every sense of the word! She is a magnificent Lagoon 450 catamaran, newly launched and she arrives in the Caribbean for charters starting December 2015.

DELICIA features multiple fabulous lounge areas– the Flybridge, the Aft Deck, the Main Salon, and the Foredeck Lounge. The Flybridge is accessed with steps leading from the aft deck. The helmsman has maximum visibility from this raised steering platform which also has easy access to the sheets and running rigging. It’s a great location offering space for safe operation of the yacht. There's seating for six as well as a sunbathing lounge directly forward of the steering station. Of course, the view of the surrounding scenery from the Flybridge is truly delightful!

Forward of the cabin house and just aft of the trampolines, DELICIA features the unique Foredeck Lounge area – a favorite of many and a great space to enjoy a refreshing lunch or a delicious cocktail.

The interior of the yacht, designed by the Italian specialist, Nauta Yachts, is simply gorgeous. The overall design maximizes space and adds lots of luxurious touches such as indirect lighting, a hideaway cabinet for the flat-screen TV, and clever catches for the drawers and lockers. When the sliding doors are open to the aft deck, there’s virtually no separation between the interior saloon and the exterior living area - it's one big, open space!

Located in both hulls are four luxurious Queen guest cabins offering luxurious accommodations for eight guests. Each cabin has private ensuite bath with electric head and dry shower. DELICIA is fully air-conditioned throughout.

Internet is by Wifi Hot spots although WIFI connections can be arranged with a local provider for $20 per person per week, although mainly for checking emails and not sufficient to stream movies. Suggest download movies at home before charter.

NB Fishing not currently available in BVI.

Crew Profile

Captain: Dylan Burn (29)

Dylan can’t remember a time when he wasn’t on the beach challenging the waves on a surfboard or exploring under the sea. He grew up on the sunny shores of Durban and Cape Town, South Africa, in a community of yachtsmen. As children, Dylan and his friends went to boat socials at the local yacht club. They heard stories of sailing and racing, and met people that proved to be inspirational. Dylan says that from a young age he knew he too would be a sailor one day. It is little surprise that as an adult, once he started sailing, he fell in love with the open ocean and set a course to become a captain.

Dylan is certified as RYA Yacht Master and RYA Coastal Skipper. In addition, he qualified in Advanced Lifeguard Rescue Boat and Helicopter Crew Man and Advanced First Aid. He believes safety is paramount on board and guests always feel secure in his capable command. Dylan has also worked as a children’s counsellor, lifeguard and rescue crew man. Whether his charter guests are families with children, first time sailors, or Old Salts, Dylan makes everyone feel welcome and at ease.

As a captain, Dylan enjoys hoisting the sails and taking guests to his favorite fishing and diving spots, hiking and biking trails, and attractions throughout the British Virgin Islands. He is a patient teacher for guests who want to try their hand at the helm, trimming the sails, exploring on Delicia’s stand up paddle board or two-man kayak. For those who want to soak up the Caribbean sun, Dylan knows the best sand beaches and the most fun beach bars in the Caribbean. He says, “You will always feel safe and if you ever want to get involved, please join in and have fun. There will never be a dull moment on my boat.”

Chef: Chelsea Campbell (26)

CHEF CHELSEA CAMPBELL: For Chelsea, being a superb chef is in the blood. She has the great fortune to have a father who is a chef, currently running a restaurant in the UK. Chelsea grew up on the east coast of South Africa very close to the Mozambican border. Her dad was a big inspiration for her to become a professional chef. She learned his tricks of the trade, especially how to create amazing meals with simple ingredients. Raised on great food, in the kitchen of a pro, has made her a remarkable chef.

Chelsea has always been eager for new challenges and experiences. She competed in some tough sports as a child, like field hockey and touch rugby. She worked as a safari guide in the eastern cape of South Africa. (Ask her about injecting a wildebeest.) After working in the bush she accepted a position as manager of a small coffee shop. The shop owner hired her to be the tutor for his son aboard his private catamaran. Chelsea discovered her love of yachting and never looked back.

For Chelsea, being a chef is important, but so is getting to know the guests to help create an unforgettable vacation. She serves delicious dishes, like Mediterranean fish, ribs with sticky BBQ sauce, creamed spinach gnocchi, crispy chicken and some really good cocktails. She loves animals and kids, playing the guitar and kiteboarding. She also loves fire dancing. She says, It’s a really fun experience for charter guests. I set up night time beach parties for them where I spin fire.” Imagine that experience on a tropical island beneath a trillion stars.

January 2017 - Rave Reviews for Delicia!!

I only have rave reviews for Delecia and Captain Dylan and Chef Chelsea!!

First off the Delecia is a beautiful catamaran, nicely kept, clean and had all the amenities. Captain Dylan was an amazing captain, hung out with us, brought us to the most amazing beaches. Extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, and always looking out for our best interests.Chef Chelsea whipped up the most amazing meals. Not sure how she did it in such tight corners, but the food was healthy, delicious and creative!

I would highly recommend the boat and the staff as the experience was an A+

November 12 - 19, 2016 ~BVI~ Tons of Fun!

It was a perfect trip! The captain Javier, works very hard and professionally, as well as Marie. The crew was amazing, the food and drinks excellent, the itinerary perfect. The fishing and snorkeling were wonderful. The yacht is new and very comfortable for 8 people. This was the best trip ever for my friends and I, and the entire experience of our trip was outstanding! We will be back soon.Pablo

Leslie, Tom, Thomas & Matthew

Virgins 27th Dec to 3rd Jan

We had a fantastic time aboard the Delicia! The boat was very nice and very well taken care of! Everything was extremely clean and ship shape! But the best part was the crew! Kevin and Sally were delightful, extremely nice and very very accommodating. They really tried to tend to our every wish. They were incredibly friendly and nice companions in tight living quarters. Sally did a great job of cooking and being the first mate. The food was very very good. We had requested a more simple Mediterranean sort of menu and she did everything to completely accommodate our wishes, and all was delicious, especially the wonderful breakfasts. Nothing like having your coffee topped up without even asking! Both she and Kevin eagerly served the food and made sure we were totally satisfied.

Most importantly however was the skippering by Kevin. He is obviously very very knowledgeable on sailing and we felt safe and secure always with him at the helm. He was completely competent and knew all about the islands, boating, weather and all that had to do with being on the water. He very expertly and impressively parallel parked our vessel in-between the Rutter’s catamaran and a huge yacht to the amazement of all on the docks for our New Year’s Eve dockage. He was given kudos from all the other captains. He would not have attempted it but the yacht club insisted that was the only space for us. He was a totally trustworthy captain and both he and Sally were honest and earnest people of exceptional character and temperament . We would love to sail with them again anytime!
