Bill Mcgrory

Captain

Captain Bill has over three decades of experience in the yachting industry. Raised in Perth, Australia and London, England, Bill learned to sail in the English Channel. He has run charter and private yachts all over the world, from the Great Barrier Reef to uncharted islands in Indonesia, the rugged coast of Croatia and to the well-loved islands of the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Bill loves being on the water and all kinds of boats; he has been known to take local ferry services while on vacation to fully experience the river or shoreline of a new place. Even with his 3,000 ton license, he isn’t all nautical nerd: Bill has a keen sense of humor and a treasure chest of entertaining anecdotes. He loves light aircraft, vintage motorcycles, Samurai movies and renovating his 160 year old house.

Hailing from Durban, on the east coast of South Africa, first mate Rudi Turner came into yachting to see the world from sea level. With his hospitality degree, he has worked his way through the Mediterranean, Caribbean and up and down the eastern seaboard of the US.
Rudi brings his high-energy and enthusiasm to your holiday, ensuring that your days are filled with exploring the water and local shorelines and instilling you with the confidence to rock at all of the water sports, even the ones you didn’t think you could do.

Tina grew up in sunny Mount Maunganui, New Zealand and spent all of her summers hiking, snorkeling and swimming the beaches of Coromandel. She found her passion for cooking at a young age and has been in culinary professions for over 20 years, with a culinary diploma from Auckland.
Like a proper food nerd, Tina knew she couldn’t truly appreciate the food of the world, unless she travelled the world to taste it. She brings to your plate the benefit of her travel and study everywhere from Australia to Southeast Asia, the Middle East to the Mediterranean, Canada to the Caribbean and South America. It’s clear that on her travels that Tina visited lots of museums, because every one of her plates is a work of art. Word has it, Instagram was invented so the world could see Tina’s food.

A native of Johannesburg, Lee Anne honed her craft of coordinating high-end weddings and events in Cape Town, South Africa before joining the yachting industry. Her entire career has been built around ensuring her guests have fun in beautiful and unique settings, whether on land or sea. At every opportunity, Lee Anne explores local resorts and spas—strictly for research. She wants to be sure that not only are her guests getting the best fun she can give, but also to make sure they are being spoiled and pampered in every way possible.

Growing up playing around the lakes of upstate New York, Lizzie Doyle feels natural being near water, so much so that she became an oyster farmer. But then, she found yachting, and traded in oyster beds for your king and queen size beds on board and hasn’t looked back! In her free time, Lizzie studies wine and loves water sports, yoga, hiking, running, climbing, attempts at playing the ukulele, and road trips. Her goal is to bring all of the good vibes to your holiday, and is totally okay if that means you don’t want to a UKE concert.

Brett is a travel and adventure junkie. He left South Africa to discover the world– now he loves to help you explore the cruising grounds, anchorages and ports Cherish II will take you on your holiday. Brett loves snorkeling, kayaking, wakeboarding, and just about every other ocean sport; you can also find him fly-fishing, golfing and dirt biking. Brett claims he makes the best Caipirinha, you may just have to take him up on it.
