About ECLIPSE

Operating in the Caribbean

Lagoon catamarans have really cornered the market when it comes to crewed yacht charters and ECLIPSE is a stunning example. ECLIPSE is a 2016 62 ft luxury sailing catamaran based in the Caribbean.  She four en-suit guest cabins with queen-sized beds, this yacht would be superb for four couples, one family or perfect for two families of four. Amenities on board include multiple comfortable and shaded outdoor relaxation spaces, air conditioning throughout, 74 gph fresh water maker and a great selection of water toys. Light wood and bright accents create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. There are multiple comfortable and shaded outdoor relaxation spaces whether it's the fly bridge, cockpit or salon. In addition to the extreme comfort of this yacht, ECLIPSE is one of the most comfortable sailing vessels of her size.

But really…why book ECLIPSE - THE CREW – The fleet of crewed yachts have become very similar over the past few years, so what sets one above the other is often the crew. Jack, Jaimey and Chef Melissa have a great philosophy, in their words… "Aboard ECLIPSE we provide a unique experience unlike any other vessel. We will cater to the guests' individual needs. One night you might find yourself wanting to dance the night away at the Bitter End Yacht Club and the next night you may want to layout on the trampoline without another boat in sight. We will take you to the best beaches, the best snorkeling spots and even the best gift shops! It's your week, you tell us where you want to go and we will make it happen!"

Jack, Jaimey and Melissa are all passionate about their jobs and have a contagious joy for life….ECLIPSE is a beautiful yacht…but the CREW will create memories that will last lifetime.

Jack and Jaimey have expended their team this season and will be joined by an amazing chef with 10 years of chef and charter experience, Melissa.

CHEF MELISSA NEIDLINGER

Mel has always had a passion with food, be it eating or makingit! After graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree she hadlittle interest in pursuing, she earned her Culinary Arts degree from the LeCordon Bleu Culinary School in Chicago. It was there that Mel was able to turnher passion into a career. However, after a few Chicago winters, she was ready to trade in her snow boots for flip flops, and that’s just what she did. Evenmore fortuitous, she was able to find a venue in which to channel her love of cooking in the Caribbean: cooking on charter yachts.

Mel enjoys cooking just about everything! She has a deep appreciation for all cuisines; be it comfort food from her own Midwest roots, to international zest, to healthy and light. Mel’s favorite way to cook is to take something “ordinary” and add a special flair to make it stand out from thenorm.Mel also enjoys sharing her passion with others. During her timeworking on boats she has written and published a cookbook, created an onlinesupport forum for yacht chefs (currently with over 200 members), and mostrecently founded Island Eats Culinary Adventures; an interactive cookingexperience designed to teach others the fundamentals of cooking. Cooking has always been something she loves and is thrilled at being able to explore that passion in multiple venues.

Of course, working on a boat in the islands would not be as funif she didn’t enjoy the activities! Mel loves scuba diving, snorkeling, waterskiing, and just floating in the water. Her personal interests includehiking, running, yoga, writing, exploring new horizons, watching movies, doing crossword puzzles, photography and meeting new people.

Captain Jack, First Mate Jaimey and Chef Mel are the ultimate trio. They all have a contagious joy for life and for creating unforgettable vacations that leave people feeling relaxed and filled with memories that willlast a lifetime. Children of all ages are welcome aboard ECLIPSE

Testimonials

Testimonials are from the previous yacht the crew was aboard - Blue Moon is a Lagoon 560 - Jack and Jaimey were aboard for 4 years.

New Years 2015/16

Our family of four recently took a seven day New Year's British virgin islands cruise on the Blue Moon catamaran with Captain Jack and crew Jaimey. It was a truly wonderful experience! The Blue Moon has three guest suites, a spacious indoor salon with a widescreen television including a large selection of recent movies in addition to DirecTV, an aft dining area, a flybridge with large padded seats, and a very large area in the front of the boat with several seating spots including two trampolines, 2 large bean bags, and sunken benches. Plenty of cozy spaces to congregate, sneak off for solitude, or stargaze at night. While the boat is very luxurious and well appointed, the real treat is the service provided by Jack and Jaimey. First the food: prior to our cruise we were asked about our food and beverage preferences, which we provided by email. Every meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner, contained scrumptious, healthy variety, all personally prepared by Jaimey, with Jack's assistance. Fresh fish, meats prepared on the outdoor grill, and the bread and pasta were always made from scratch. Interesting and delicious appetizers, specialty drinks, and combinations of food that we had never experienced before. We must also mention that the boat is incredibly clean and fresh.Captain Jack would conduct a breakfast meeting every day showing us where we were on a map and outlining the myriad possibilities that lay before us for the day, then let us chose our own itinerary. We never really had to cruise more than an hour or two to get to our next destination. We could find an isolated beach, snorkel, scuba (they are both certified divemasters), float on the large inflatable, waterski, wakeboard, paddleboard, swim, sun, hike, enjoy happy hours or after dinner cocktails at a festive beach bar, or just do nothing and lounge about the boat. The Blue Moon has a small and quick powerboat (60hp) that Captain Jack quickly and easily used to tender us to various ports and hotspots in the islands and for water sports. We cannot more highly recommend an excursion on the Blue Moon with Captain Jack and Jaimey. We greatly look forward to our next opportunity to sail with them. You made a special family week into a truly extraordinary experience. The boat was very nice, but there are lots of nice boats. We cannot possibly imagine a nicer, more accommodating, hard working crew! You make magic happen on Blue Moon! One Love!

Christmas 2015

We brought our seats to the full upright position as wisps of white cotton passed our window, seemingly suspended in the blue Caribbean sky. Those clouds and some sandy beaches would be our “white” Christmas this year. The final approach to St. Thomas came with great anticipation for what we expected to be a very special family holiday aboard Blue Moon. This yacht charter would be our sixth in the British Virgin Islands and would mark our return to catamarans after two monohull trips, as well as a return to St. Thomas for embarkation versus Tortola. The tone of the trip was set early, our crew having arranged private transportation (an Escalade no less) instead of the usual multi-stop cattle call vans that dominate St. Thomas airport arrivals. We soon learned that this level of attention would typify our experience all week. Captain Jack and Jaimey were waiting for us when our driver pulled up to the dock at Red Hook, and they escorted aboard the most beautiful yacht in the harbor.Blue Moon has that look and feel - you know, the kind where you feel a sense of pride of being a part of something better than the rest of humanity must endure. Our catamaran boasted a length of 56 feet and an even more impressive width of over 31 feet, providing volume and spaciousness unsurpassed in our experience. What a delight it was to have so much space on each side of the beds rather than have to climb and crawl into the space. Of course before the week would end, our seeming arrogance would be humbled by some mighty expensive and large hardware that shows up in the BVI for the holidays. However, we would never trade Blue Moon for any other boat, and we were quite certain that no other vessel was as clean and well maintained as ours, not to mention the decorative touches that helped to complete our holiday. The boat was adorned with Christmas lights, wreaths, and other decorations, and the crew even had gifts for us on Christmas morning! A delicious and quite moist turkey dinner was so appropriate for our family’s traditions, but it must be noted that all the food and service was over-the-top great all week long. Our family scuba dives together, and Captain Jack and Jaimey really pleased us by conducting all our dives right off the back steps of the yacht with none of that unpleasant business of attempting to climb into a dinghy in rough water after a nice long dive. As always, scuba diving in the BVI is excellent, and this was no exception, with comfortable water temperature of 81 degrees (no wet suits) and plentiful underwater sights and marine life. One of the many highlights of our trip was our vessel’s underwater blue lights, nightly attracting large gatherings of tarpon and other interesting creatures. What are the holidays without football? Not to worry because Blue Moon features satellite TV and Wi-Fi.Captain Jack was skilled at selecting the best anchorages at each destination. We had requested a combination of quiet, secluded inlets and popular harbors, and we were not disappointed. It would be hard to do any better than our anchorage directly in front of the Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay, where Blue Moon dominated the live webcam for 24 hours, and we took turns waving to our friends at home and toasting our Painkillers. Re-entry to the real world is always difficult after such a relaxing vacation, and the atmosphere surrounding STT departures makes it even more challenging. Even so, our stress was alleviated by the memories of a wonderful week aboard Blue Moon.

Hank, Susie, Trey, Victoria and Tyler!

Call if you're ever in Texas! Jack and Jaimey - Another amazing trip aboard Blue Moon. No matter how beautiful the BVI's are, you both put the experience over the top! We could not imagine how the trip could be any better. Thanks you being a part of our vacaton and becoming terrific friends. WE cannot wait to come again! Please come see us!!!

Kristin, Mark and Doreen

Where do we begin, this was the most AWESOME adventure. You're presence was fantastic. I loved the morning discussions with history of the BVI and where we were going and what we were going to do. The food was probably the best we've ever had on vacation. I found my new love ...DIVING! Thanks so much to the two of you for being patient with me.

Thank you for everything!!! Jayne and Dee

APRIL 2015

We keep having these amazing memories of the Blue Moon and you two. What a time of beauty and pampering. What you got out of that Galley was incredible, as were the daily Adventures. We count ourselves very fortunate to have been able to have the experience on the Blue Moon in the Virgin Islands with such attentive, professional and FUN people…THANKS for a DREAM come TRUE!!!

Sandy and Terry

I wanted to make sure that I let you know, from my perspective, what a wonderful luxurious time Jim and I had on the Blue Moon. The two of you made us feel so welcomed on your boat. You made sure that we felt welcomed (while still laying out the rulesJ) and that your home was our home for the week. As you know, we are just now able to take a vacation that is about us and not the entire family. I’m so glad that our week with you was our first ‘us’ vacation. There were so many highlights of the trip from finding Nemo (numerous times), tracking down the ever elusive turtles, hiking in the heat of the day (oh that cold beer was marvelous!), air band (Jack you play a mean guitar), driving the boat – and I have the picture to prove it, being the only person on a beautiful beach – still can’t believe it – how does the world not know about your wonderful islands, swimming with the barracuda, ‘Bitter End’ sunsets, and lots of laughter! So many memorable experiences. That said, none of the above mentioned items come close to the sensory experience that we experienced 4 times a day. Jaimey, your meals were fantastic – much better than we could have anticipated. The time you took to make sure the details of the meals were perfect while at the same time catering to us .. can I have a cappuccino? margarita? gin and tonic? painkiller? martini? I don’t know how you did it. We are a group of extreme foodies – so to provide 3 meals and hors d’oeuvres that everyone loved is no easy task.Suffice to say that the two of you made our trip one that we won’t soon forget, one that we will always cherish, and one that sets the bar for all future vacations!

Thank you so very much!!! Denise

MARCH 2015

The trip experience was beyond our expectations. The boat was terrific, the weather great, the islands varied, but what really made it special was the Captain and his First Mate.Jaimey and Jack were nothing short of great. Jack understands how to make you feel welcome and safe. He is knowledgeable and skilled. Jaimey's food was delicious, varied, and her presentation was first class. And she can also sail. They were a great team. They worked hard to ensure that we were happy and we were indeed.

NEW YEARS 2014/2015

Jaimey and Captain Jack are absolutely unparalleled hosts. They think of everything, and make you feel completely at ease. We had coordinated and emailed several times before the trip and spoken to Captain Jack once to firm up details about 3 weeks prior to our trip, and literally from the moment we arrived, we did not feel like guests at all. They showed us all around, and made sure we knew where things were and how to use them. They had snacks and drinks waiting, and options for us to choose from that first afternoon. By the time dinner was over that night we felt like they were on the vacation with us and we’d known them for a long time. They do the “beds and heads” so discretely each day before you even realize they were ever missing. (They’ve already made your bed and cleaned your cabin.) Captain Jack is a wealth of information about the islands and historical details about the BVI. Each morning after breakfast he gets the map out, reviews where you’ve been and what that day’s options are, and then the group lets him know their preference for the day’s sail & destinations. He’s happy to involve you in the sailing activities if you wish to, or you can just relax and watch. Jaimey doubles as the 1st mate and chef, and while it’s hard to tell which one she’s best at, you’ll truly be “wowed” by her galley skills. She doesn’t miss a thing on your preference sheet, accommodates different diet types with ease, and prepares and presents each meal in a way that is simply out of this world. We actually ate ashore one evening, and while it was good, we all wished we'd stayed aboard Blue Moon for Jaimey's dInner! Captain Jack sets the table each day with fresh beautiful linens, followed by Jaimey describing that meal’s offering as it is served. Her dishes stimulate one taste bud after another as well as plated with stunning presentations and garnishes. Truly each meal was better than the next, and just as we thought she couldn’t possibly top one – she would! They are so Kodak-moment-like that you almost think they are too pretty to eat. (We always took a picture first though!) You are served breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack tray with happy hour, followed by dinner and dessert. Fresh baked cookies are made many days as well. She makes many of the breads herself and has become a master of local fresh provisioning. We had a pirate themed party one night complete with costumes. They pulled together costuming and joined us. Jaimey made a pirate themed dessert that night with cupcakes and decorations and pirate inspired drinks for us too.I really cannot say enough good things about Jack and Jaimey. We felt like family and were just as sad to leave them, personally as we were to leave the beautiful island destinations they showed us. They are game for anything, think of everything, have endless tips and recommendations, unmatched service and are the kindest and fun people we could have ever hoped would crew our vacation sail and become “part of the family.” There is absolutely no doubt we will be back, and the only choice for us is Blue Moon with Captain Jack and Jaimey. My only worry is that as word about them continues to travel, they may be already booked the week we decide to go."

MARCH 2014

Thank you Jack and Jaimey for a wonderful, adventurous trip in the B.V.I. I enjoyed snorkeling, hiking, sailing, swimming, tubing, paddle boarding, and jumping off the boat. I enjoyed eating cookies, cheeseburgers in paradise, papaya, pineapple, brownies, meatballs, desserts, and crab cakes. I really liked the briefs and listening to all your interesting stories about shipwrecks, poisoned apples, 100 year old treasure and Treasure Island. I liked sailing from island to island with “Heads and Beds” music and getting smashed by waves and stuck in tubes and getting thrown in the ocean and having Fanta soda!"

Michael, age 9

APRIL 2014

"Thank You for making our 10th anniversary sailing trip truly spectacular. Every day was a fun adventure and every meal a celebrated event. It was hard to top the whale sighting experience at the beginning of the trip but spotting a manta ray during our 2nd dive was right up there as one of the coolest things ever. We loved the incredible snorkeling at the caves, and getting low, low, low, low at the Willy T’s!!! And have we mentioned that we Love Jaimey’s cooking?! Above all, we loved our time together, getting to know both of you. We couldn’t have asked for better people to guide us on this amazing adventure. May your sailing be great and your mustard not too spicy!"

APRIL 2013

The yacht was beautiful, comfortable and the cabins had a lot more storage space than we expected or needed. Captain Jack and Jaimey were wonderful hosts from the second we arrived at the dock to our good bye hugs. We loved how they were so engaged with our children the entire week. Every day after a wonderfully cooked breakfast that Jaimey prepared (including fresh baked breads) we were always excited to hear about the history of the place Captain Jack was sailing us to next. That was generally followed with them pointing me in the right direction on one of the beautiful islands for a run while the kids played games in the outdoor seating area in the stern. That was always followed by a short cruise to our next stop where we always swam, snorkeled or paddle boarded while Jaimey made a delicious lunch. About an hour after lunch our kids would shout out "only 4 hours til the 5:30 snack" which was always a great treat. However dinner was the best of all, (followed by Jaimey's tastey desserts) as our family sat down to reflect on our day over a wonderful meal yet still bring Captain Jack and Jaimey into the conversation. To sum it up, everything was just perfect starting with the crew and the yacht. My wife and I have never felt so relaxed on a vacation and thankful that we did not have to make any decisions other than what bathing suit to wear or what wine for dinner. When they were not active in the water, our 4 children spent hours away from their ipads, iphones...to play countless hours of bananagrams and cards together. The tv only went on twice and once was so I could watch the heat game. We were so pleasantly surprised by the video Captain Jack and Jaimey presented us with on our final night. It was a special gift for a special trip that we will always remember. Hopefully you got a chance to see it.

Thank you for your assistance and of course I would be happy to help out you or the Blue Moon crew in any way.

All my best,

Roger
