Captain: Jason Bacon

Jason started his life on the water at the age of 5 racing small sailing dinghies. After racing for a number of years he taught these skills at the Olympic sailing school in Wales. At the school, he passed his Master of Yachts unlimited and with such credentials was able to join the Americas Cup Yacht, Stars & Stripes. With a passion for travel working on super yachts seemed a natural progression. Since then he has worked on multiple yachts and has 17 years of experience in the industry.
As a captain, he oversees every aspect of the yacht’s operations ensuring safety at all times and a comfortable cruising experience. He is adept at crew relations, continually maintaining a strong team environment to create the most memorable and service oriented experience for the guests.
Hobbies include: free diving, Wake Boarding, Sailing and kayaking.

First Officer: Durvano Minus
Previous Yachts: M/Y Mustang Sally (161ft), M/Y BG (150ft)
Durvano Minus was born on the 21 miles long and 7 miles wide island of Nassau, Bahamas. Seeking to be different from his peers, he perused a career in maritime at Holland College Maritime Academy in PEI, Canada obtaining his OOW unlimited after completing high-school. After which he charted his course travelling to numerous countries such as Singapore, South Korea, Brazil, Peru, Japan and China just to name a few. After 8 years in commercial shipping working his way up from a Deck cadet to a 2nd Officer, he decided to shift his skills and knowledge from commercial shipping to the yachting industry.
As a 1st Mate, he is responsible for all that happens on deck and the safety of the ship and its guests. His job is to assist guests with the water toys and to keep the yacht’s exterior in meticulous order. He has fantastic tender driving skills and he is great with kids.
Hobbies: Rugby, Camping, Hiking, Travelling, Knee Boarding, Kayaking, and Sailing, Snorkeling and Diving (Qualified PADI Open water)
Chief Engineer: Gareth Evans
Previous Yachts: M/Y Itasca (180FT)
Gareth is from the South Coast of Durban. He grew up by the ocean and whenever he had the time he would be on the beach either kayaking or doing life guard duties. After finishing school Gareth did a 3-year apprenticeship to become a Mechanical Fitter and after staying in this position for 2 years he then decided to jump into the yachting industry.
Gareth is now a qualified MEOL and maintains the yacht’s engine room and keeps the yacht’s systems in top condition 24/7. He will ensure everything is in proper working order: from your shower to the galley, main engines and everything in between.

Winter Chef - Caribbean: Benoit Mercier
Previous Yachts: MY SEANNA (185’), DESTINATION FOX HARB’R TOO(161’), SEAOWL (203’)
From Quebec, Canada, Benoit started cooking at an early age for his family where he would always prepare breakfast on the weekends. This led him to culinary school at the reputable École Hôtelière des Laurentides in Sainte-Adèle.
After his graduation, Benoit traveled to over 30 countries and has worked in some of the finest restaurants around the world. From Libya to Bermuda and France to Japan, Benoit worked with amazing chefs and in particular, the Michelin star rated restaurateur, Hiroyuki Hiramatsu in Tokyo, Japan where he learned the Feng Shui way and discipline to run a kitchen. He then moved to the yachting industry to challenge himself further.
Benoit has been an Executive Chef on yachts for over 15 years. He keeps up with the diet trends of today such as gluten-free, vegetarian, raw diets as well as creating his own super food such as chocolate, healthy preserves and protein bars. In January 2015 he graduated from the Integrative Nutrition School of New York as a professional coach in improving health and happiness through nutrition.

Summer Chef - New England: Amie Jodrey

Amie's passion for food has a focus on quality nutrition. Trained as a Professional Red Seal and Holistic Nutritional Chef, her approach values our connection with food as nutritious, fulfilling and sustainable; both for us and the planet. Providing flavorful healthy foods from organic, local and humanely raised products. Aiming to provide a culinary spectacle that will make it an experience worth repeating.
Amie's culinary training has taken her all over the world, from Culinary School in Nova Scotia to learning Organic Farming in Australia and Medicinal foods in New Zealand. Her life experiences have led her to develop an attitude that is about so much more than food.
Hobbies include: Avatar training, dance, yoga, water sports and tennis.
Chief Stewardess: Tam Boutelje

Tam was born in Johannesburg, South Africa but was raised in West Sussex, England. After graduating from university, she worked in London as a tailor and wardrobe consultant. Having been a recreational scuba diver and keen traveller since her teens, she left the city to embark on a career in yachting in 2011 which combined her love of the sea and going to new places.
She strives to make guests happy by providing the best quality service and experience for them. Tam is dedicated to making your experience on board memorable. She offers the highest standards in all aspects of the interior and service. Tam is always eager to assist you in every way and to ensure the best yacht vacation possible.
Hobbies: Scuba diving, writing, hiking, keeping fit, exploring new places and meeting new people.
2nd Stewardess: Taytum Steyn
Previous Yachts: M/Y Quattrolle 86.11M, M/Y Itasca
Taytum is from South Africa and grew up in sunny surfside city of Durban. Once Tay completed school she pursued a career in hospitality and started working on a Big Five Game Lodge (Hotel) where she assisted as an Au pair and also in guest services. After gaining the experience she needed, she then set off for Dubai and joined the exciting world of yachting.
As 2nd Stew, she is delighted to offer guests five star service and will be happy to accommodate your every need.
Hobbies: Horse riding, Photography, Floristry and spending time in nature.
Deck/Stew: Mary Cope
Previous Yachts: M/Y Australis
Born in Savannah, Georgia and raised on the Isle of Hope, Mary was influenced from an early age by the beauty of the ocean and its intracoastal waterways.
Convinced that the assurance of working outdoors was the chief criteria for furthering her education, Mary obtained a science degree in Biology and after university was employed by the International Riding Academy of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Oddly enough it was here that she was introduced to yachting, when one of her clients asked if she might be interested in a “change of scenery?” And a change it was, spending winter seasons in Asia or the Caribbean and summers in the Mediterranean, each port of call brought a heightened sense of excitement and adventure.
Mary now divides her time and work between the Equestrian and Yachting industries. She just recently finished a period of traveling southern Africa working in a number of the continent’s most popular horseback safaris. Her passion for conservation on land and sea is one that she enjoys sharing with guests and hopes to meet your every whim and desire where experiencing your pristine surroundings are concerned.
Hobbies: diving, paddle boarding, fishing and she soon hopes to graduate from wake-boarding to Kite boarding.
