The modern European styling of her light-filled interior echoes the clean lines of Fortuna’s hull and sweeping decks. Pale leather sofas in the main salon invite you to gather at the large table, savor the chef’s or captain’s - delicious cuisine and linger in the company of friends and family. Walls and overheads are white and the minimal cabinetry is pale wood to contrast with the dark cabin sole. Entertainment includes a plasma screen TV, DVD, stereo system and library.
A striking feature that sets Fortuna apart is her expansive flat decks, totally smooth and free of all obstructions. Space for al fresco dining is equally generous. Aft of the sailing cockpit, the guest cockpit comfortably seats 10 for lunch on plump yellow cushions. A second guest cockpit, dubbed the aft beach, offers sunning cushions and two smaller tables suitable for 10. Just 20 centimeters (8 inches) above the water, this is the spot to relax with a cool drink, dip your toes in the water and watch the sunset.

FORTUNA Crew Profile
Captain Antonio Escribano Gomez = Spanish National Cruising Instructor.
Antonio has been a charter skipper and accomplished racing crew in Spain and the Caribbean for 25 years. He became skipper of FORTUNA in 2005 and oversaw her transformation from stripped-out ocean racer to luxurious yacht. No doubt his knowledge and past experience on many boats were put to good use incorporating all the details that make Fortuna a first-rate charter yacht. With his warm, outgoing personality, Antonio is an excellent host - and chef! After a day of sailing, water sports and exploring local beaches, guests will often find him in the galley creating a delicious dinner.
Another of Antonio’s outstanding talents is teaching sailing. He is a certified Cruising Sailing Instructor who takes great satisfaction in giving his students the skills - and joy – to confidently captain a sailboat on their own. Many of his students have gone on to participate in national and international yacht races, achieving much success. Captain Gomez is an also expert in developing Team Building Programs.
Antonio’s hobbies include diving, skiing, travelling and reading.
Chef Arancha Aranda, 34
Arancha has a combination of talents perfectly suited to caring for Fortuna’s guests. In addition to a degree in History from the University of Madrid she has diplomas in Public Relations and Entertainment Activities.
It was during her college studies that Arancha discovered a keen interest in cooking and made the decision to earn a diploma in culinary arts. She loves combining Mediterranean cuisine – especially Italian pasta and risotto - with Oriental flavors to create new dishes. Coming from a country with long coastlines on the Atlantic and Mediterranean, Arancha cooks seafood perfectly. She specializes in classic rice dishes such as Spanish Paella, Caldereta de Langosta (lobster with rice) and her traditional Suquet de Peix, fish with potatoes and vegetables, is always a hit.
Arancha speaks English and enjoys diving.
First Mate/Hostess Sofia Moreno Gomez Acebo
As a child, Sofia, 27, dreamed of sailing. With experience on merchant ships and cruise ships in the Mediterranean, she was delighted to join Fortuna in 2005. Her dream came true!
Sofia is a happy, enthusiastic person with a very pleasant personality. She likes guests to feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment they step aboard and is attentive to their needs and wishes at all times. As a good Galician, she is an expert in preparing “queimadas” (literally, forest fires) a very special drink from northwest Spain.
Sofia loves having families on Fortuna. A part-time instructor during her school years, she has a lot of experience with young children. She speaks English very well. Her hobbies are snorkelling, travelling and reading.

FORTUNA Testimonials
I have just spoken to the Wallenberg's they had a great time on Fortuna. They said the food was good and the sailing was fun.
“We have always liked to sail and have our own boat. But we never imagined being able to experience the sensation of sailing a yacht like FORTUNA with a captain really works magic with the sails. Thank you Captain Antonio for this incredible experience. Thank you Sophia for your magnificent attention and your eternal smile.”
Ibiza, 2007
