FUERTE Crew Profile
William and Julia (Jubee) are an experienced charter crew who have been working together in the marine industry for the past 12 years. When in the UK they live in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight where they married in May 2005 and where both grew up learning to sail dinghies. Since their first season working in the Ionian waters of Greece they have always endeavoured to exceed the expectations of every guest. William and Jubee can make your next vacation an unforgettable one.
In 2000, while William taught budding sailors to safely handle a yacht, Jubee would be found managing Sunsail’s Galini Kids Club. As a result they love to have children aboard and always enjoy the challenge of harnessing the children’s interest and boundless energy. Having run an enlightening Sunsail Ionian flotilla in 2001 they moved to the British Virgin Islands where they ran a crewed Moorings 45’ catamaran throughout the Caribbean Islands until August 2005. They were then involved with the build of a 52ft high performance carbon fibre cruising catamaran in Durban, South Africa. Once she was launched they sailed her down to Cape Town and then via Brazil to and around the Caribbean with the owner.
William and Jubee love all water-based activities. William holds a degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography, and as a trained PADI Scuba instructor, knows the best rendezvous dive spots. Both are avid snorkellers, and where marine life is abundant you will find William taking photos of your snorkelling adventures that will go home with you to add to your memories of a wonderful trip. During his career, William has accrued plenty of instructional experience and is well equipped to develop your sailing and water sports skills if you are interested in doing so. In addition, William and Jubee enjoy hiking, and are both good kite surfers, which they enjoy immensely during time off.
Jubee is an extremely versatile chef who will pay special attention to your preferences to offer you a mouth-watering personalised menu. She hopes that the photographic sample menu that she has created leaves little doubt as to the level of food you can expect whilst aboard Fuerte. In addition to these culinary skills, Jubee has Sailed through out her life and is a very accomplished helm. Prior to life on the sea Jubee qualified with a degree in Jewellery design and Manufacture and ran her own jewellery workshop.
As of January 2012, William and Jubee will have been on Fuerte for 4 1/2 years and have sailed the boat from Italy to New Zealand, around the Polynesian Islands for three years and back to the Caribbean via the US, Mexico and Panama Canal. A trip of roughly 45,000 miles.
Whether you wish to relax on your holiday or have a non-stop fun filled time, William and Jubee hope that they can share the amazing environment that they are privileged to live and work in.
