GALILEO is a 38 m (123 foot) luxury ketch motor sailor designed for world cruising by Sparkman & Stephens with the classic interior design talent of John Munford, built at Palmer Johnson Yachts in 1989 and maintained in mint condition.

GALILEO G can accommodate 6 guests in 3 cabins.
The Master cabin has a king size bed, bath/tub, shower and toilet.
A Guest cabin has a queen size bed, shower and toilet.
A Guest cabin has 2 single beds, shower and toilet.
Crew has a separate heads and shower.

Her classic interior is finished in quarter-sawn golden teak paneled bulkheads and beautiful teak & holly flooring. All interior soft furnishings and artwork have recently been updated in keeping with GALILEO’s traditional stylishness. A welcoming salon is an elegant gathering area for guests with formal dining for 8. Beautiful flush teak decks lead to unobstructed lounging areas while a large, protected cockpit offers comfortable alfresco dining & shelter from the elements while enjoying the panorama.

Offering luxury accommodations for 6 (or a family of 7 guests) GALILEO has 3 beautifully finished guest staterooms aft of the salon.

A full-width Master Stateroom aft has walk-around king size bed, with rounded corners at the foot and beautiful teak detailing plus large storage drawers below. The bed is framed by matching bedside tables, brass lamps and easily accessible lighting controls; state of the art television /entertainment system.

The spacious master bath is to starboard with tile and contrasting elegant Corian countertop & sink, ample storage and beautiful teak detailing throughout. The master bath offers a fully enclosed shower plus a full sized bathtub. Just aft of the bath is a vanity / writing table just below a port light to provide natural light.

Adjoining the master is an office / library to port offering generous bookshelves and storage surrounding a beautiful custom roll-top desk. A settee provides a comfortable area for reading under the natural light from port above.

The Port Guest Cabin has lower twin berths either side of a beautiful custom hand-crafted teak chest of drawers. Each berth is surrounded by upholstered head & sideboard, with large storage drawers beneath; television / entertainment system. An en suite guest bath has large shower stall, Corian countertop & sink, ample storage and beautiful teak detailing.

The Starboard Guest Cabin has an outboard double berth with upholstered head & sideboard, a custom teak desk, and an inboard Pullman berth that opens to accommodate an additional guest; television / entertainment system. The en suite guest bath has a full shower stall, Corian countertop & sink, ample storage and beautiful teak detailing.

Crew of 5/6 are berthed forward with crew lounge / dinette

GALILEO Crew Profile

Captain: Dave Hanna   New Zealand,

Dave Hanna started his ocean sailing career aged 12 when he set off with his parents from his native New Zealand on a round the world adventure in their 36´sailing boat. His travels thereafter kept him close to the sea spending many years around the Mediterranean Sea engaging in everything from commercial shipping and salvage, to olive growing. He has a racing record of distinction, having competed in the Whitbread Round the World Race and very many notable regattas worldwide with Overall Winner trophies to his credit. Dave´s occupation in professional yachting has spanned many years and has included some of the finest sailing boats ever built, including the Galileo which he has skippered for over five years.


Engineer: Jared Howorth

Jared Howorth, the Pirate of Penzance, was born and raised in Penzance, Cornwall and sailed from a young age in many classes of dinghy. He has been an engineer for his working life so far and much of that time at sea on sailboats, having covered over 40 000nm including 4 Atlantic crossings and 1 Pacific crossing on sailboats from 30´- 130´.  Jared has worked as engineer on Galileo for over a year and so is well placed to ensure your time onboard is trouble free.
