GITANA Crew Profile
CAPTAIN – MILTIADIS HARATZIS
Captain Miltiadis is a graduate of Hydra’s Merchant Marine Academy. He was born in 1958 and is a Greek national. He has worked on both motor yachts and sailing yachts, but his heart belongs to sailing! He also participated in racing competitions (sailing yachts) and speaks fluent English. Guests are assured of a thoroughly enjoyable time on board s/y “Gitana” with Captain Miltiadis and his crew.
ENGINEER – VASILIS BITHIZIS
Engineer Vasilis was born April 7, 1964 in Athens, Greece. He is married and speaks English. Vasilis graduated from the Polytech School and obtained his diplomas as Engineer/Mechanic and further to this he has all necessary Safety and Fire Fighting Certificates. He began his career in 1987 as Electrician for Marelco A.E, however in 1989 Vasilis brought his knowledge to sea as Engineer on board luxury yachts: m/h “Nima Star”, m/y “Ioanna”, m/y “Calma II”, m/y “Calma III” and today is on board s/y “Gitana”. During his free time Vasilis enjoys going to the movies.
CHEF – PANAGIOTIS TZAMANOY
Chef Panagiotis was born September 1, 1979 in Athens, Greece. He is single and speaks English, French and Latin Terminology. After graduating from High School, Panagiotis attended “I.E.K – Technical School” for culinary arts. In 1996 Panagiotis began serving his dishes for hotels and restaurants such as: “Hotel Grand Chalet” on the island of Kos, “Hotel Novotel”, “Italian Restaurant “Spuntino”, “Restaurant Aiolies”, “Chef Catering Pasqualle”, “Avli Restaurant”, “Planet Taste”, “La Pasteria”, “Amvrosia Restaurant”, “Ploes Restaurant”, “Minoa Restaurant”, “Kapri Restaurant” and “Messiah Restaurant”, but Panagiotis also brought his talent to private luxury yachts and today he continues to please all guests who have the chance of tasting his dishes. During his free time Panagiotis enjoys playing soccer.
CHIEF STEWARDESS – HERNELIA MOYAN SOABAS
Chief Stewardess Hernelia is 30 years old, a Philipino national. She has attended basic safety course, ship security awareness, crowd and crisis management. She has worked on board world cruise ships; “King of Scandinavia” in Denmark, “Monalisa” in Greece, “Nordnorce” in Norway, “Alexander” in Greece, “Jasmine” & “Iris” in Israel. She joined s/y “Gitana” last year. Her work experience assures you a pleasant stay. She speaks English, Spanish, Chinese, Mandarin and Tagalog. During her free time she enjoys playing piano, guitar and painting.
STEWARDESS – GEORGIA ZAGANAKOU
Stewardess Georgia was born July 16, 1979 in Piraeus, Greece. She is single and speaks conversational English. After graduating from High School, Georgia attended Seminars for: Wine List Knowledge, Flower Arrangement, Food & Beverages, Interior Decoration, Culinary Art, Bartending, Silver and China Services. Further to this, she holds all necessary Safety and Fire Fighting Equipment. In 2004 Georgia began her services at sea on board luxury motor yacht m/y “Proteus” as stewardess and did so until 2009. In 2010 Georgia joined the crew of s/y “Gitana” where, along with the rest of the crew, she makes sure that your stay on board will be unforgettable. During her free time she enjoys going to the gym, listening to music and reading.
BOSUN – PANAGIOTIS PAPOULIS
Bosun Panagiotis was born June 16, 1970 in Neapoleos, Lakonia Greece. He is married and speaks conversational English. Panagiotis holds all necessary Safety and Fire Fighting Certificates and also License for Speed boat. Panagiotis began serving at sea in 1987 on board Merchant Vessels and has done so consecutively. Today he has brought his experience and knowledge to s/y “Gitana”.
SAILOR – ANDREAS KYPRAIS
Sailor Andreas is 43 years old, a Greek national. He holds an A’ Instructor’s certificate in sailing and A’ Divers diploma from Navy Marine. He has participated and won many sailing races: pre-Olympics with Corel 45’, World cups with Corel 45’ and Far F 40’ & 45’, Greek cups with 470 Olympic class, Greek and European cups with G24 one design and World, European and Greek cups with lightning one design class. He was also Boat master in an 86’ and 52’ cruising racing boat – one design. Andreas is a valuable asset to the crew due to his extensive sailing knowledge. He speaks English and enjoys diving, windsurfing and sailing.

GITANA Accommodations
GITANA can accommodate 9 guests in 3 cabins. The Master cabin has a double bed, shower and toilet. A Guest cabin has a double bed, a single bed, a pullman, shower and toilet. A Guest cabin has a double bed, a pullman, shower and toilet. GITANA is fully air conditioned through out. Crew has a separate heads and shower.
