

Captain: Rocke Wilkinson Age: 31 Nationality: Australian
Always having been a fan of the water and various water sports such as surfing, body boarding and scuba diving, Rocke Wilkinson started racing skiffs at age 24. At the age of 25 he became first mate aboard a 40ft sailing yacht where he received extensive training and certifications. He then became captain of this same vessel which did sail training charters, whale and dolphin watching excursions as well hosted whale and dolphin research trips for a local University. Over the years, Rocke has held various positions, this includes delivery captain, operations manager/captain of two ex-America’s Cup (IACC) yachts in Nassau, Bahamas and first mate aboard a 100ft luxury motor yacht. Rocke joined S/Y Gone With The Wind in June 2008 and has since then been actively involved in the refit process.

First Mate/Cook: Sagorika Platel Age: 23 Nationality: Australian
Sagorika Platel being originally half French half Indian and who has grown up in Thailand has a diverse culinary background from which to draw on. She is an avid traveller, having travelled to far and exotic places since she was very young. Sagorika speaks four languages, namely, Thai, French, Spanish and English. She received sail training in Australia and attained the Competent Crew Certification as well as her STCW’95. She has since sailed with Rocke on the 40ft sailing yacht, then later on, became race crew aboard the two ex-America’s Cup yachts in Nassau Bahamas. Her last position was aboard a 100ft motor yacht as stewardess/crew cook. Sagorika joined S/Y Gone With The Wind in June 2008 and has also been actively involved in the refit process.
