GypseaSwing Crew Profile

Maxime (French captain licence, STC W95) began his career as a sailing instructor some 10 years ago in Corsica and Britain. He then went to Croatia where he was in charge of yacht charter bases, while continuing to sail the Mediterranean, Asia and the Caribbean. In 2005, he attained his engineers certificate (750 KVA) and captain's ticket (500 UMS) and embarked on larger craft as mate or engineer and then captain (on Lepante, Comuteur 108 '; Malizia, Perini Navi 90'). For 6 years, he sailed mainly in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, covering nearly 50,000 miles.
In 2012, he embarked on Gypsea Swing, a "small" sailboat, for fun and the simplicity of navigating by sail!
Maxime will be delighted to share with you his knowledge of the sea and sailing gained from his wide experience on top class craft,
Laurence Ducastel: 26, French- Padi divemaster - First aid- STCW95
Laurence has a university degree in « Town and Territory Planning», which didn’t stop her from learning how to sail and cook in the meantime. She made the most of a year in Australia and got her Padi Divemaster degree; she worked as a waitress and a cook assistant in different restaurants both in France and Australia. For a few months, she was the cook-hostess on a catamaran in Cairns before coming back to France where she embarked on board Gypsea Swing. Available and open-minded, she serves delicious, simple food, her cooking mostly inspired by Mediterranean cooking.
