GYPSY PRINCESS Crew Profile

Achilleas | skipper

Achilleas began his sailing career when he was 22 years old. After he finished his studies he decided to make sailing his profession and he acquired his R.Y.A. Yachtmaster diploma. Since then he sailed extensively the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and he crossed the Atlantic twice.

He has built an extensive experience over the years. Besides working as a freelance skipper, Achilleas was a base manager for different companies incl. Yanmar, Dufour and Istion, where he acquired his technical knowledge of yachts and hands-on problem solving attitude.

Today Achilleas has sailed about 100.000 nautical miles. After his second and recent Atlantic crossing on a 62 feet catamaran, Achilleas worked as skipper on this yacht in South of France, Corsica and Sardinia.

Besides Greek, he speaks fluent English, good French and has some knowledge of Italian.

Cleo | Cook, hostess

Cleo has a passion for cooking since she was 16. She traveled to different countries known for their gastronomic cuisine or well-known vineyards, where each time she discovered new tastes and different ways of preparing delightful dishes.

After 10 years working in Belgium, Cleo decided to leave the city of Antwerp behind her and moved to Samos island in 2010 to work as a hostess on charter catamarans. In the last 3 years she acquired her Belgian sailing diploma and a lot of experience covering many miles in the Mediterranean, assisting in deliveries and working on charters. In 2011 she left Greece to work as cook on a 62 feet catamaran and made her first Atlantic crossing together with Achilleas.

Combining her love for sailing, being on the water with her passion for cooking, Cleo doubts there’s any better way to live for her.

Cleo’s mother tongue is Flemish and she speaks fluent English and French.

APRIL 6-13, 2013

Dear Achilleas & Cleo,

Where to begin....I guess from the beginning. From the moment we were greeted and stepped onto the boat we knew we were in paradise and starting a dream vacation.

We will always have many wonderful momories from tis trip. Paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling and a very memorable trip to the Baths!

Then of course the dinghy rides to dinner in our dresses and hoping we don't get splashed!

Cleo your cooking is fabulous! Breakfasts, lunches and dinners!

Achilleas, you were always so accomodating with everything with everything we wanted to do and all the places we wanted to go. You were a fearless leader

Much love from Durham, North Carolina,

John & Jeaninne

Dear Achilleas and Cleo,

After 34 years back in the BVI, it was a great pleasure to have you show us all the same places that we went to sooo many years ago.

We felt really at home on Gypsy Princess with my family (daughter, son in law, 2 grand daughters and my wife) and you two.

My daughter and her famly really loved this experience and Alice and Olivia enjoyed every minute they spent at Gypsy Princess with both of you.

Gypsy Princess was the highlight of our vacation! It was an unforgettable birthday that I spent here and you made it special.

We thank you both with all my heart to welcoming us to Gypsy Princess and we hope to return soon!

Beijos de todos nos from Rio de Janeiro!

WOW, what an amazing adenture our trip has been.

The boat was incredible and exceeded all of our expectations!

Some of our top memories include:

- Willy T night; Stephen and Alex jumped naked of the boat in front of the whole bar!

- Scuba diving and snorkling - We say many sea turtles, ray fish, lionfish, octopus, eels and even sharks!

- Flamenco night with the friends of Gypsy Princess - Great music, dancing and laughing!

- Bitter End Newyear celebration - The dancing Greek showed us his moves!!

- All days delicious food and drinks (Gypsy Princess Painkillers yum yum)

- Photoshoot of us jumping of the boat - Fun!

And some famous quotes:

"That's what I'm talking about!" - Stephen

"Who's your daddy baby?" - Kevin

"JAMAS" - All together (cheers in Greek)

Thank you for the amazing trip aboard your beautiful yacht. The whole experience was surprising: the food was wonderful, the sailing exceptional! Cleo’s cooking was innovative and gourmet, better than any restaurant we ate in! Achilleas is a first class seaman and skipper who is skilled and familiar wit hall seafaring tasks.

The Gypsy princess is definitely more a Princess than a Gypsy! We really built a friendship during our short time on board and we hope to see you both again in the near future!
