Crew Profile

Captain: Jim Harding

Captain Jim grew up in a small Greek community (Tarpon Springs, Florida) where his passion for the sea began through heritage—by being brought up in Greek culture—and spending the majority of his youth boating, fishing, diving and scalloping. Upon graduating high school, he attended the Harry Lundenburg School of Seamanship, where he started his career in the maritime industry as a Merchant Mariner. After progressing to the captain position, he left the oil industry and returned to Florida to work as charter fishing captain in his hometown. During this time, he was asked to deliver new yachts and orientate the owners on the operation and maintenance of their new vessel(s). Subsequently, he was offered a position as a captain and thus began his career in the yachting industry. Since then, from the early 1990’s till present, Captain Jim has traveled extensively throughout the Gulf of Mexico as well as up the Eastern Seaboard; from Key West to Nova Scotia. Destinations include: Maine, Wentworth by the Sea, Gloucester, Boston, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Newport, Montauk, New York City, Norfolk, Charleston in addition to several other locals, such as traveling throughout the Bahamas and the Exumas. Captain Jim joined “M/Y I Love This Boat” in June 2016. With Capt. Jim’s wealth of experience, your adventures aboard will leave you with amazing memories.

Engineer: Jose Pena

Jose joined “M/Y, I Love This Boat” in November 2016. Born in Cali, Colombia, he relocated to the U.S. at a young age. Most of Jose’s hobbies are related to the water; he thoroughly enjoys fishing, swimming, snorkeling, diving, and—of course—yachting. He has been an Open Water diver since 1994 and enjoys sharing his experiences. Jose has been an engineer on yachts since 2009 and traveled throughout the Bahamas, Turk Caicos, St. Marten, La Guadalupe, Panama, and other parts of the Caribbean. His main concern is for our guest to have a great time and a peace of mind, so, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

Mate: Scott Bennett

Scott grew up in Connecticut as an avid skier, baseball, tennis and auto racing enthusiast. Despite working full time, he graduated with a bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut with excellent grades. After years in corporate America working in sales, management and finance with multiple fortune 100 companies, he abandoned the traditional career path that paralleled most of his peers to take the path less traveled by. Scott sold all his possessions and moved to the Virgin Islands to pursue his passions of working on the water. Years of working on the water on a variety of boats earned Scott the right to call himself a captain after completing the proper licensing. Yacht deliveries, charters and private sailing classes became Scott's bread and butter in the boating world. In July 2016 Scott joined the crew of “M/Y I Love This Boat”. From sailing to diving, and jet skiing to volleyball, Scott now spends his free and professional time in an environment he loves.

Deckhand: Adam Lamb

Born and raised in Florida, this native boy of sunshine has never seen snow. His outgoing, social, and positive attitude rubs off on the crew and guest alike. Adam enjoys backpacking, hiking, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures. Growing up along the water in a lesser developed area has instilled a passion for being outdoors, adventure, as well as respect for wildlife. Despite having a degree in political science, he has been in the marine industry for three years working for a sailing charter company prior to transitioning into yachting. Adam joined “M/Y I Love this Boat” in August 2016. Whether you’re onboard for just a day or only for a week, Adam will do his best to ensure that your experience will not only be pleasurable, but memorable.

Stew: Elizabeth (Liz) Vergara

Liz was born in Chicago, Illinois, but was raised in Columbus, Ohio. After years of braving winter, Liz decided to chase the abundance of sunshine, beaches, and palm trees, so she relocated to Tampa, Florida. With a well-rounded background in the service industry, Liz easily transitioned into the yachting. Liz joined “M/Y I Love This Boat” in July 2016. Her outgoing and positive attitude is infectious to say the least. Whether it’s early in the morning or late in the evening, her smile and energy can’t be missed. Coming from Cuban immigrant parents, she has a passion for her ancestral homeland and likes cooking Cuban cuisine when possible. Liz enjoys the outdoors, yoga, dancing, reading, canoeing, and, of course, having her toes in the sand.

Stew: Taylor Bonito

Born and raised minutes outside of Fort Lauderdale in the rural community of Davie, Florida, she’s no stranger to the outdoors. Taylor has been fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the Florida marine landscape since she was a child. Taylor is an outgoing, down to earth, adventure seeker. You can catch her getting crafty, kayaking the mangroves, enjoying yoga, or absorbed in a good book. She found her love for animals after working over four years in veterinary hospitals until she realized her natural calling was the sea. She got licensed in massage therapy in 2015 and shortly after joined the yachting industry. Since then, she’s been able to explore and experience the beauty of the Bahamas. Taylor joined “M/Y I Love This Boat” in January 2016, and looks forward to helping guest and crew make their time memorable.

Chef: Evan Calwhite

Evan was born in the great state of Florida and grew up in Tampa. At a young age it was apparent that he had a passion for cooking. Throughout the years, while learning from other chefs, he endeavored every day to reach his potential. His love for the outdoors, as well as his desire to create memorable cuisine for everyone to enjoy. Whether it’s deep sea fishing, hunting, going to new places or just being out on a boat, every trip is a journey just like life.

Evan joined the crew “ M/Y I Love This Boat” in August 2016 and looks forward to your new adventures

Layout

Well known for its tasteful art deco interior, the one-of-a-kind I LOVE THIS BOAT can accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins. With features including backlighted glass, decorative rope lighting and shimmering overheads, her interior decor is certainly one of the more unique amongst yachts currently available for charter.

The Master Stateroom is located forward on the main deck, with a private entrance that opens to an office. With neutral creme tones, the stateroom features a king size bed, huge walk in-in closet with washer/dryer, and a large vanity for the Mrs. The master head has a walkthrough shower with a most- inviting waterfall feature.

Four guest cabins are located midship on the lower deck, and while stepping down the elegant staircase with soft plush carpeting, guests will have no problem finding their way to their staterooms with the backlit lighting and exciting artwork.

Standing in the guest foyer, the two queen cabins are located aft on the port and starboard sides, and are very spacious allowing for guests to fully walk around the beds. The heads are also large with plenty of counter space, a shower and toilet.

The two twin guest cabins are forward of the queen cabins, and feature twin beds large enough for adults to sleep in. These cabins are also spacious and have an ensuite with ample counter space, large shower and toilet.

I LOVE THIS BOAT is fully air conditioned through out.
