Hailing from South Africa, Bernard is a professional and reliable MCA certified Captain with MCA Officer of the Watch, MCA Master, and B.V.I Class One licenses. Bernard is passionate about all aspects of the yachting lifestyle and his enthusiasm is contagious. Gaining extensive yacht charter experience working onboard top-rated sailing and motor yachts of up to 200 feet, his capabilities handling dynamic situations with the utmost of ease combined with his familiarity of the best ports in the Mediterranean and Caribbean and easy going demeanor have earned him an excellent reputation in the industry. Chef/Hostess: Kristen Alexander

Soon after meeting Kristen Alexander, two things will become apparent: her dedication to cooking every meal to please her guests, and her passion for the sailing life. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, she developed a love for the sea, and immediately after graduating from Texas State University with a BA in Psychology, she jumped at the chance to return to the ocean as a chef in the yachting industry. With years of experience in restaurants and cooking in a variety of styles, she quickly landed a position as a cook/stew aboard a large, traveling motor yacht, specializing in European Modern cuisine, where she would have remained...had she not developed the heart of a sailor the summer before, cruising the Bahamas four years ago aboard a schooner! She now has multiple seasons of experience sailing around the British Virgin Islands, U.S Virgin Islands, Bahamas, and other Caribbean islands as a Chef/Mate/Stew aboard many sailing yachts and wows her guests with her versatile gourmet cooking and ever-present joie de vivre. When Kristen is not working on the ocean, you will find her traveling every chance she gets, whether it be hitch hiking through New Zealand, traveling around Thailand, doing a cross country road trip, or hopping from country to country in Europe. Her recent adventure was taking a Professional culinary course at the Ashburton Cookery School in England where she developed more in depth skills about the art of cooking and can’t wait to share it with all of her guests on board catamaran IN THE WIND.

Deckhand: Jean Pierre Hoffman

Jean comes from sunny Cape Town South Africa where he started surfing at a young age and fell in love with the ocean and all her creatures. Jean finished his Dive master recently in Indonesia and he is always excited to take In The Wind guests on underwater adventures. Jean works on deck and assists our Chef with service. He will make sure your cocktail glass is always full and you are are relaxing in style. Jean has been a working in the sailing industry for quit some time and has done more than enough blue water miles on sail and power yachts which gave him a professional manner which is still very friendly so that our guests and their children can feel relaxed with Jean showing them around the tropical islands and expeditions ashore whether it's hiking, water skiing, fishing or beaching.
