JIVA Crew Profile
Steve Payne: Captain, British, age 38.
Is a class 4 qualified yacht Captain. Over the last 15yrs he has cruised extensively through the Med, Caribbean, Bahamas and US. Living in the South of France Steve is excellently placed to supply all that is needed for a great yachting experience. From Ibiza to Istanbul Steve has the experience and local knowledge to get you where you want to be. When not yachting round the world he’s jetting. With two years spent travelling including such exotic locations as Bolivia and Tibet Steve is no stranger to strange lands. More recently Steve has Married his long term partner and has 2 young daughters.
Ricardo Maia: Chef, Brazilian, British, age 37.
Cooking and Travelling for the last 10 years in different countries, Ricardo found his inspiration in every corner of Europe that he has passed. Passion, flare and intuition guides him to create a tasty and healthy variety of dishes which will delight the senses. Ricardo also loves to add Asian and his native Brazillian influences into his cooking. In his spare time, he loves cycling, skateboarding and Hiking in urban areas or uninhabited islands. The sun, moon, sea and nature give him a bright energy that makes him face his life with a big smile. A strong personality and well-educated background makes him a pleasant person to spend your time with.
Harriet Balme: Chief Stewardess, British, age 25
Harriet is a keen sailor and has sailed extensively from the Balearics to Brittany on her parents yacht. She loves regattas and has done Cowes week many times.
She feels very privileged to have grown up next to the sea and has always taken advantage from playing on ribs to racing competitively. This led the way to thinking about a career in the yachting industry. Harriet is a warm energetic girl who will look after your every need with a diverse background in the hospitality industry including managing the most exclusive chalet in Courcheval 1850 ski resort. Harriet is into extreme sports whilst not at work including rock climbing, surfing and skiing.
Kevin Cutler: Engineer, British, age 44
Kevin’s interest for engineering was initiated by his Grandfather who was a Chief Engineer with the Royal Navy, Practical engineering knowledge gleaned from both him and his father, a mechanical engineer, has had a lasting influence, with an interest in the workings of all things mechanical and electrical. Coming from the commercial industry Kevin has transferred into yachting seamlessly and his knowledge of the vessel and ability to deliver under pressure makes him an integral part of the team. In his spare time Kevin loves a game of squash, cycling and photography.
Samuel Rankine: Mate, Australian, age 41
Sam hails from Adelaide, Australia and has been over in the South of France for the last six years. During that time he has cruised extensively through the Med including Italy, Croatia, Greece, Turkey and The Red Sea. A big sports fishing and music (classically trained pianist) enthusiast and a friendly, fun-loving guy who loves what he does and makes sure everyone around him has a fun and enjoyable time to.
Tayo Kopfer: Second Stewardess, South African, age 20
New to the yachting industry, Tayo is from the seaside village of Scarborough, near The Cape of Good Hope. Surrounded by nature her whole life, she loves the outdoors and discovering new places. She has a keen interest in classical music and plays the piano and violoncello when at home. With parents in the hospitality industry, she is very in tune with people’s needs. Tayo is a fun and happy girl who looks forward to a prosperous future in yachting.

JIVA Accommodations
JIVA can accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins. The Master cabin has a king size bed, shower and toilet. 2 Guest cabins have a queen size bed, shower and toilet. 2 Guest cabins have 2 single beds, shower and toilet. JIVA is fully air conditioned through out. Crew has a separate heads and shower.
