Captain Zachary Wallen

Zachary Wallen is the captain who will welcome you aboard Jupiter.  Since 2006 Captain Wallen has logged thousands of offshore miles sailing from the Canadian Maritimes along the US Eastern seaboard, down to the Caribbean and back up again. He is a versatile skipper with commands ranging from a 65’ vehicle ferry and 50 passenger day sail catamaran in Martha’s Vineyard, MA; a round trip from Nova Scotia to Arctic Greenland and delivery of a 95’ catamaran from Agadir, Moroccoto the Canary Islands. He has delivered yachts from 38 to 90 feet in length between the Caribbean and the Eastern Seaboard including 12 trips via Bermuda.

Zachary’s reputation as a capable relief captain has givenhim many opportunities: From cruising in French Polynesia with live- aboardowners to captaining the 110 foot sloop PROVIDENCE participating in a series oftall ship events up to Nova Scotia training volunteers to sail a fully-riggedship. The PROVIDENCE is a film star featured in two Pirates of the Caribbeanmovies. Zachary has also been on the silver screen in a supporting role in theItalian feature film “Caterina Va in Citta.”

Captain Wallen holds a USCG 500 Ton Masters Upon OceansLicense with Sailing and Towing Endorsements and certificates as a Lifeboatman& Radar Observer. He is a PADI Dive Master and a Wilderness First Responderwith 80 hours of emergency medical training. An International Studies Major atthe University of San Francisco, Zachary is proficient in French.


Chef Frida Eklund

Frida Eklund, the chef and first mate aboard Jupiter,started in chartering as the cook and mate on a 53’ sailing yacht in Greece 3 years ago. A year later she was cooking, and doubling as a stewardess, on aprivate 90’ motor yacht based in Antibes. Her reputation as a hard worker and quick learner earned Frida a position on ‘Hemisphere’, the world’s largest sailing catamaran at 145 feet, for charters and owner cruises up to four weeksduration in French Polynesia.

Frida’s background in hospitality at resorts in Sweden,Norway, France and Austria was good training for the service side ofchartering. From the beginning she has advanced her career through professionaltraining. In Greece she took a two week intensive charter course which covered boat maneuvering, line handling, knowledge of local cruising grounds, cooking on board and bookkeeping. To further hone her cooking skills she took a culinaryworkshop at Chicago’s Blue Ribbon Kitchen and completed Personal Chef Trainingin Fort Lauderdale. She is eager to acquire seamanship skills and has earnedqualifications including STCW 95 and powerboat handling. Frida is a certified PADI Open Water Diver.

First Mate

Marcus Sebastian grew up in Antigua, famous for sailing the world over. Marcus became a member of the Antigua Yacht Club when he was 5 and is a keen dinghy sailor. After attending high school in the USA Marcus decided to go into a career in Yachting and has now been working as a professional deckhand for the past two years. His 1st position was on a racing yacht where he learnt great dinghy driving skills and raced in the UK and Mediterranean, he then joined a large sailing schooner and sailed from Palma de Majorca in the Mediterranean to Tonga in the South Pacific. Marcus loves sailing, scuba diving and all kinds of watersports and is keen to share his skills with charter guests. Marcus has sailed all over the Caribbean and the East Coast USA as well as the transatlantic and trans pacific trips.

Layout

The Main Salon provides entertainment system,lounging sofa and formal dining table seating 8 while the main cockpit table comfortably seats 10.  A large sun deck and space for deck lounge chairs.Galley and crews quarters are completely separate from all guest areas. 

The spacious aft Master cabin includes two large double berths, copious storage, entertainment system and large head with double sinks and stall shower.

The three guest cabins, one VIP double and twolower twin cabins all feature abundant storage and heads with stall showers.  All cabins feature natural light and ventilation from deck hatches and unique portlights. 

A/C throughout. There is state of the art soundproofing for a quiet and enjoyable cruise.
