EUROS WILLIAMS - CAPTAIN

Euros (pronounced “Eros”, The Greek God of Love!) is from the UK, born and raised in the spectacular mountains of North Wales. At a young age he started playing the cornet and became successful as a soloist and band member. He later gained his Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors in Music at the University of Salford, Manchester. Euros went on to manage The Royal Channel Island Yacht Club bar and restaurant. This provided him with valuable knowledge of the hospitality industry. He then moved to the ocean side of the yachting industry. There he spent over a year as a marine technician with Princess Yachts and Jeanneau. Euros has lived, crewed & raced on board a number of yachts, completing many ocean crossings. Most recently crossing the Atlantic Ocean as Captain of S/Y Kings Ransom. Euros has sailed more than 16,000 nautical miles up and down the Caribbean chain, chartering in the most beautiful islands in the world. Euros will show you the best the Caribbean has to offer. Whether mixing up a tropical cocktail to enjoy while watching the sunset, sailing the seas or diving some of the most amazing dive sites in the Caribbean, you’ll be in good hands with Euros. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to here him play his cornet either with the band at the Last Resort Restaurant or he might just wake you up in the morning with revelry!! Euros holds his RYA Yachtmaster, Advanced first aid certificate and is also a PADI Divemaster.

EMILY WILLIAMS - CHEF

Emily is from the UK, the lovely Island of Jersey, situated in the Channel Islands between England and France. Soon after, she moved to North Wales, where she gained a passion for horses. In the summer holidays her passion shifted from the saddle to the helm, from riding white horses on the beach to riding white horses on the sea, sailing around Jersey with her father. Emily went on to study at the University of Northampton where she gained her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Education and English. After graduation from university, Emily had three years offshore banking experience, as a fund administrator in Jersey. Since then, the meaning “offshore” has changed for her. For two years she has worked as a Chef on the successful charter catamaran S/Y Swish. Prior to this she was a sous chef/stewardess on S/Y True North, where she studied with an Australian chef specializing in oriental and Thai cuisine. Emily’s menu touches on flavours from around the world. Emily is an award winning chef, winning Best Chef Overall at the 2007 Charter Yacht Boat Show. She will dazzle you with her culinary delights. Emily holds a RYA Day Skipper Certificate, advanced first aid certificate and she is also a PADI Rescue Diver. She loves entertaining, socialising, yoga and wakeboarding.

JAMES SYLVESTER – FIRST MATE

James is from the UK from a small village near the home of Stilton cheese. James is a dive enthusiast and his passion for this sport has driven his travels around the globe, in tropical lands such as Polynesia, Indonesia, Thailand and Australasia. James quit his career in Sales and Recruitment 10 years ago, to follow his dream to work as a diver, gaining both his Dive Master & Discover Scuba Diver Instructor qualifications. James sailed in the UK throughout his younger years, so with his love for all things ocean-inspired being an integral part of him, James sought out a career on the sea that could combine both his lust for travel to unusual places and his yearn to dive and sail in some of the best destinations in the world. A career on yachts was the natural progression for him, so James has spent the last 3 years working on luxury super yachts chartering in some of Europe’s most luxurious coastal destinations, during which he has completed his RYA Yachtmaster in Sail and Power and his Jet Ski Instructor licence. So if water sports are your thing, James will be more than happy to take you out on, or below the water at any time of the day!

HAYLEY CHADBURN - STEWARDESS

Hayley grew up close to James in the UK, just south of Sherwood Forest in the famous ‘Robin Hood’ country. Hayley began her career in hospitality at the tender age of 16, over the years working in a series of fine dining restaurants and bars including a Michelin Star restaurant and one of the UK’s leading health spas. Hayley’s life took an adventurous turn on meeting James, partnering him on his voyage around the globe for the last seven years, during which they have travelled extensively. Hayley loves to learn new skills and add strings to her bow, and so she embarked on a wine course completing a WSET Intermediate Certificate in Wines and Spirits and trained as a Masseuse specialising in Indian Head Massage. Sharing the same love of the sea, Hayley joined James onboard yachts three years ago as a Stewardess, working on several luxury super-yachts with some of the industries most experienced Stewards/Stewardesses. With her friendly nature and professional attitude, Hayley is looking forward to welcoming you aboard for a 5-Star experience.

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations.  We would love to know some of your impressions about your yachting vacation.  Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1.  Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
We were never told "no".  

2.  Was the yacht comfortable and clean?
The yacht was beautiful, spacious, and very clean.

3.  Was the yacht well ventilated?
We had AC on all the time.  Never felt hot.

4.  Was the food good and well presented?
A gourmet meal every time!

5.  Did you like the area you sailed?
Yes, we told the Capt. where we wanted to go and even though we did not have a lot of time he made it happen.

There were some questions that VI Sailing did not know the answers to.

The crew made the trip.  This is definately a "Can Do" vacation.  They were extremely accomodating and friendly.  We had 3 small boys and they were VERY upset when the trip came to an end.  We will definately be coming back!  Thank you Euros, Emily, Arnold, and Rica!

I cannot think of a better way to spend Christmas than on the King’s Ransom with my family and this brilliant crew. All ten of us from Max (2 ½ yrs) to Murray (70+ yrs) have had the trip of a lifetime. Everything (and I mean everything) was First Rate. The cabins were as good, if not better than a five star hotel. The attention to detail provided by each of you was more than we could have hoped for. I don’t know if we could have fit one more activity into our trip. The scuba diving was a real treat. However, what we enjoyed the most was spending eight great days with our family in the beautiful BVI’s, knowing that our every need and want would be taken care of by the most competent Euros, Emily, Arnold & Rica.

Thank you for the best vacation that we have ever taken! Everything exceeded our expectations! King’s Ransom is incredible, Emily’s food was spectacular. The activities, diving and snorkelling were phenomenal. Every day just got better and better, ending with an extraordinary show and performance by whales, Rica’s slide show of our week and Euros’ trumpet playing at the ‘Last Resort’! Wow, what a way to end our vacation! Thank you again for your hospitality and a week that we will remember forever.
