LADY ALLIAURA Crew Profile

CAPTAIN: Jean-Laurent SIMON

Nationality: French

Languages: Fluent English & French

MCA/RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (power & sail) /Captain 500 GT STCW95 / Kayaking instructor /

Oenoly (wine studies

Jean-Laurent sailed with Eric TABARLY, the famous French sailor on Pen Duick VI in 1993-94, crossing the Atlantic and cruising the Caribbean, where he was inspired to take up sailing as a career.

After several years working as deckhand and 1st mate on several charter yachts in the Caribbean and in the Mediterranean, he completed an intensive course in Corsica to be a captain in 1999.

A strong sailor, Jean-Laurent has enjoyed racing in the Caribbean and Europe. He raced, as bow man and in the pit position, in the Classic racing circuit in the Mediterranean, in the Santa Cruz Annapolis race (with MARI CHA III, DONNY BROOK and WHITE WINGS) and in the Jubilee Regatta at Cowes, England.

Over the last 18 years, Jean-Laurent has performed in racing, logistics, cruising and chartering; doing approximately 18 Atlantic crossings,

1 Pacific crossing (San Francisco to Hawaii), sailing most of Europe, all of the Caribbean, and Africa.

He has been Captain of various yachts, including SWALLOWs & AMAZONS (77'CNB from 2010-2011), CARRARA (MY 86'from 2009 - 2010), NOON TEASE (MY 72'from 2008-2009), MOONBEAM of FIFE III (100' Classic Yacht -including refit project from 2003-2007), SPLASH TANGO (Swan 51 in 2000), where he gained a host of excellent references.

With his marine knowledge he was also involved in a land based career for a few years, as a Consultant, Project Manager and Yacht Manager - looking after clients’ luxury yachts. Jean-Laurent is a skilled, competent captain, very personable, with a good sense of humour and is very popular with charter guests.

CHEF / HOSTESS: Barbara SIMON

Nationality: Italian

Languages: Fluent English, French & Italian

Qualifications: Hotel trade school (Arma dDi Taggia)

STCW95

His wife, Barbara comes from Italy, where she naturally inherited the love for Mediterranean cooking. After completing 3 years of catering school in Arma Di Taggia, she found a summer job on a motor yacht and decided then to continue her catering career on charter yachts.

Having now worked now for 16 years in the yachting industry as Stewardess and cook mainly on motor yachts from 80' to 115', Barbara is very pleased to be hostess/chef on LADY ALLIAURA alongside Jean Laurent.

She is very creative and always tries to find new recipes, combining flavors, colors and taste with simplicity and elegance.

Together Barbara and Jean-Laurent aim to help you indulge all of your senses with gourmet delights and exciting sailing in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations.

DECKAND: Philippe HAMON

Nationality: French, 33 years old

Languages: Fluent English & French

STCW95

Philippe, the deckhand, studied Economy and Art Industry in France where he worked as an Art dealer for 3 years, then after a period in Real Estate, he finally built up his own company in para-pharmacy (health foods). That was a complete change. But through his career, he has always had a passion for the sea, especially scuba diving, (has an instructor's license), funboard (windsurfing), and sailing.

He has been working in the Caribbean for a few years, is a great sailor, and recently got his captain’s license to be able to work in the charter industry. Philippe's is very well educated, gentle and ready to help the people around him, and he's a dedicated, professional team player. Philippe will "make it happen" he's there to ensure the guests have a wonderful experience on board.

STEWARDESS: Corinne MORLET

Nationality: French

Languages: Fluent English & French

STCW95

Very sporty, with a sports instructor certificate in her pocket, Corinne both practiced and taught diving on the French Riviera and in the Caribbean.

Fascinated by the sea, it was quite natural that she started working on boats more than a dozen years ago.  First as a team member, then as a hostess on both sail and motor yachts such as M/Y Azimut Leonardo 100', M/Y TAO 72' and S/Y Lelantina, and finally as captain on motor yachts in the Mediterranean.

Smiling, attentive and rigorous, she will delight guests aboard the Lady Alliaura.

The 4 crew members of Lady Alliaura make a very professional, friendly

and complimentary team and look forward to welcoming guests aboard.
