Chef: James Howard
James grew up with a passion for cooking and knew at a young age that he wanted to be a chef. He learned most of his culinary techniques from the French at the age of 16 after training in a Michelin star restaurant combined with a culinary school in Cannes, France. He then moved on to work in a traditional French restaurant in the mountains of Auron in the French Alps. After the season ended, he sought out bluer pastures and landed his first yacht job in 2006 sailing around the Mediterranean and acquiring more culinary knowledge. From there, James moved to Ireland where he worked in Dublin for a year at a French-Irish Bistro called "L’Gueuleton”, which is one of the finest and most successful restaurants in Ireland.
It was in 2009 when James landed his first head chef position at a French Gastro-Bistro in Paris at the young age of 21. Once James overhauled the menu, the restaurant went from being a cute, hole-in-the wall establishment to being voted ‘7th Best’ restaurant in all of Paris on TripAdvisor and winning numerous other local and international accolades.
After two and a half years of success in Paris, James once again decided to return to the yachting scene. Since then he has traveled 6 continents learning their culinary traditions and techniques.
