Steven was born in Cape Town, South Africa. His love for the ocean and his father’s influence as a yacht Captain inspired him to pursue a career in yachting. Steven has been in the yachting industry for over 12 years. His maritime travels include the East Coast of USA, Bahamas, Caribbean, Central America and Western Mediterranean. He has two Atlantic crossings and 3 Panama Canal transits and over 80,000 miles logged at sea. Steven enjoys scuba diving, wake boarding, body boarding and soccer.
As Captain he believes in a safe, professional crew, so you can relax and enjoy the luxurious pleasures and adventures that M/Y Lady Sheila has to offer!
FIRST MATE: Nicol Terblanche
NATIONALITY: South African
QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Yachts 200 ton; OOW; Advanced Scuba Diver; STCW 95
Nicol was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He grew up in a coastal town known for fishing and surfing. He has been surfing and diving for 15 years and loves the ocean. He has been yachting for over 4 years and loves to travel. His maritime travels include the East and West Coast of USA, Central America, Western Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Bahamas. He has done 2 Atlantic crossings, 1 Panama Canal transit and has logged over 25000 nautical miles at sea.
Nicol enjoys all water sports, reading and yoga. He hopes to make your stay on board Lady Sheila a memorable, fun time!
CHIEF STEWARDESS: Amy Jennings
NATIONALITY: English
QUALIFICATIONS: STCW 95 (BSc Hons Equine Science, Masters in Equine Spinal Therapy)
Born and raised in Oxford, England, Amy is a keen horse rider and has grown up competing in affiliated Dressage, Eventing and Show Jumping. This led her to completing a degree in Equine Science and consequently a Masters degree in Equine Chiropracting.
Amy was introduced into Yachting by a friend, where she quickly gained a broad range of experience. Amy has worked on several Motor and Sail Yachts including Eos, the worlds largest privately owned sail yacht. In her time in yachting she has cruised all over Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Indonesia, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. When not working or horse riding, Amy enjoys all outdoor activities and in 2008 completed the Flora London Marathon.

ENGINEER: Dirk Schoombee
NATIONALITY: South African
QUALIFICATIONS: Y3 Chief Engineer, Yacht Master, Dive Master
Dirk has had his own business, road transporting Yachts, since the late 80’s. His business led him to meet 1000’s of cruising Yachtsmen and became obsessed to cruise the world. So, in 1993 Dirk & his wife built their own Catamaran and sailed for 7 years, from South Africa to South America up through the Caribbean to the East coast of America.
While cruising, Dirk met many people within the Mega Yacht industry and found it a good way to continue a wonderful lifestyle whilst earning an income. During his time in Mega Yachting Dirk has completed an impressive 11 Atlantic crossings.
Dirk has many hobbies including weight lifting, fishing, flying, skiing, motorcycling, free diving, hiking and 4x4 safaris or in fact anything that takes him outdoors and into nature!
CHEF: Chris Miller
NATIONALITY: English
QUALIFICATIONS: Chris is originally from Southampton England and has been in yachting for as long as he can remember! He has worked on several high profile boats including the 126m Lurssen ‘Octopus’. Chris previously worked on Lady Sheila II, the 130 ft Mangusta before moving on to Lady Sheila.
Chris loves to cook a variety of dishes from everything from Asian to French and everything in between! He cooks to fulfill the guests every need and desire!
STEWARDESS: Nia Aronoffsky
NATIONALITY: British
QUALIFICATIONS: STCW 95, Yacht Silver Service
Nia was born in Japan and raised in the British countryside. From an early age Nia has been a “dancing queen” and trained in the technique of classical ballet, cumulating in her performing at The Royal Albert Hall, London in 2000. After graduating with a degree in Land Economy from Cambridge, she worked in the investment finance world before seeking travel adventures abroad.
Whilst living and working as a private tutor in Monaco, Nia stumbled across the yachting industry in 2008 and has since chartered all over the Western Mediterranean. Nia loves seeing unique part s of the world, meeting new people and learning about new cultures.
When not attending to your needs on Lady Sheila, you can find her perusing many-a-fashion page, watching English football, cycling and taking photographs.
STEWARDESS: Odile Kruczek
NATIONALITY: French
QUALIFICATIONS: STCW 95 (Masters Degree in Statistics/ Computing)
Odile was born and raised in the South of France in the yachting capital of the Mediterranean, Antibes. Odile was introduced to the Mega Yachts at an early age as she comes from a large yachting family; Her Father worked in the yacht Shipyards, her Uncle was a Captain and her sister is currently a Chef/ Stewardess. Odile has been in the yachting industry for 4 seasons spending time in the Mediterranean, Bahamas and Belize.
Odile studied at Nice University and has completed a French/ Italian Masters in Statistics & Data treatments. She is fluent in French, Italian and English and in her spare time loves travelling, dancing & painting.
DECKHAND/ 2nd ENGINEER: Nico Vermaak
NATIONALITY: South African
QUALICATIONS: Yacht Master Offshore; Approved Engine Course; STCW 95
Nico was born and raised in a Citrus Valley on the East Coast of South Africa. After completing his 2nd year at Port Elizabeth University, studying a degree in Programming & Mathematics, Nico left home to travel. He started his adventure in England and ended up staying for 2 years!
After his time in England, he left for the South of France to pursue a career in yachting. Nico recently completed his first engineering qualification with a view to becoming a Mechanical Engineer. He has cruised the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the West Coast of America.
Nico loves snowboarding, and goes to the mountain as often as possible. He also loves all water sports and diving.
DECKHAND: Brandon Bridger
NATIONALITY: South African
QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Yachts 200 ton; PADI Advanced Open Water Diver; STCW 95
Brandon is originally from Pretoria, South Africa. He was introduced to Yachting through a family friend over 3 years ago and found it to be a great career choice! Brandon now has over 8000 nautical miles after cruising the Bahamas and the East Coast of the USA.
Brandon’s hobbies include diving, snorkeling, camping and on and off road biking!
