Captain Nicolas Chauvet
In his first career Nicolas, who has a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, worked 10 years as a project manager and engineer for NASA. At the age of 29, he started his second career by becoming a US licensed captain delivering boats along the US East Coast and down to the Caribbean. A few years later, with more than 50,000 nautical miles at the helm and an RYA Yachtmaster Ocean 200 ton certificate, Nicolas became first mate aboard the famous yacht CARL LINNE and then captain aboard the 85'ft catamaran LONE STAR. He took command of LA FORZA del DESTINO in 2011.
Nicolas' interests are kitesurfing, diving and sailboat racing. He has excellent knowledge of the US East Coast and the Caribbean Islands.
Chef Lia Hosein
Lia has travelled extensively throughout the world learning different types of cuisine. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she trained under Chef Rosie Davis in Somerset, UK. She also worked in numerous hotels as Duty and Guest Relations manager.
Lia started working freelance on yachts 5 years ago, before joining La Forza at the beginning of 2012.
Being from “The Islands”, Lia can recommend lots of beaches, scenic views and activities, depending on what you desire. She has a warmth that makes everyone feel welcome from the moment they step aboard.
Christopher James St George Freeman, Mate
Chris is 21 years of age and from England. He has been working on sailboats for the past two years, most recently as a deckhand on the classic ketch, Belle Aventure. He joined La Forza Del Destino 6 months ago as mate. Chris has a cheerful attitude and a contagious smile.
Chris is bilingual: Spanish and English.
