CAPTAIN: MICHAEL SMYRNAIOS, 39, GREEK

Captain Michael was born and raised in the island of Chios. After graduating from high school, he followed the tradition of his family for generations, pursuing a career at sea. He travelled around the world aboard cruise ships and obtained his Captain’s license in 2007. After that he continued as a captain on big cruise ships and he joined Mega Yachts in 2008. When he stopped traveling with cruise ships he had sailed around the earth 9 times. He makes sure that guests have a great time, and a once in a lifetime experience. During his free time he enjoys fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He speaks English.



1st MATE: KYRIAKOS VGENOPULOS, 36, GREEK

Kyriakos joined Magna Grecia as 1st mate in August 2010. He was born and raised in Elefsina, a dry docking area in Greece. He attended the Marine Academy in 1995 and graduated in 1999. After traveling around the globe aboard tanker ships he joined the Mega Yachts industry in 2006. During his leisure time he enjoys playing basketball and listening to music. Kyriakos speaks English.



2nd MATE: LEFTERIS MANIATIS, 28 , GREEK

Lefteris was born and raised on the island of Samos. His father was a yacht captain and took Lefteris on trips with him since he was very young. He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy in 2002 and he has worked on cargo ships around the world . The last 4 years he worked on Mega Yachts, and he joined the crew of Magna Grecia in May 2010. He enjoys basketball, water sports and traveling. Lefteris speaks English.



CHIEF ENGINEER: ARGIRIS POTIRAKIS, 30, GREEK

Argiris grew up in Athens, son of a Captain from a family with a long tradition in shipping. He graduated from the Hellenic Marine Academy Engineers department. Argiris has worked on big tankers around the world for 8 years and his first yacht is Magna Grecia where he started working in March 2009. He is an extremely skilled engineer and electrician. Argiris is the person that the Captain and the crew completely trust and rely on for the smooth operation and repair of every part of the yacht. He loves music and traveling, history and literature. He speaks English, basic French and Spanish.





CHEF: GENCI DEHARI, 28, ITALIAN

Genci is from Italy with Albanian origins. He studied the art of gastronomy among the best in Venezia, Vienna and Milano since the age of 15. He has worked in some of the most exquisite and famous restaurants throughout Italy and Austria. He prides himself on using only the finest ingredients of fresh and organic products to support his imagination to create a dish that your taste buds desire. His favorite cuisines are Italian and French but he also produces amazing dishes from different ethnicities. He has worked for a year on board Magna Grecia and he enjoys traveling, tasting and producing new flavors. Genci enjoys water sports and reading. He speaks Italian, English and basic French.



ASSISTANT CHEF: CRISTINA OPRIS, 24, ROMANIAN

Cristina was born and raised in Constanza, Romania. Her passion for food started at a very early age and she graduated from the culinary school at the age of 21. She worked for one year in a luxury restaurant in Italy and then she joined M/Y Magna Grecia, in 2008. She enjoys reading and swimming. She speaks English, Italian and basic Spanish.



CHIEF STEWARD: SOTIRIS SKOYLIS, 40, GREEK

Sotiris was born and raised in Pireaus, which has the biggest port of Greece. He has extensive experience in the yachting industry where he first began working on local passenger ships, and then moved on to cruise ships. There he learned the necessary skills to provide the highest class of service to guests and to make the cruise an unforgettable experience for them. He joined the yachting industry in 2005, working aboard yachts in Saudi Arabia and he joined Magna Grecia in October 2010. Sotiris loves jogging and sports in general. He speaks English.



STEWARD: LEFTERIS GKOYVELIS, 36, GREEK

Lefteris was born and raised in Athens and he joined Magna Grecia‘s crew in 2008. After spending time working aboard passenger and cruise ships he decided that stewarding in Mega Yachts is what he enjoys most. As a steward on Mega Yachts, he aims to provide the best possible service to guests, ensuring that all their needs are catered to. He enjoys traveling and swimming. Lefteris speaks English.



STEWARDESS: IVANELA NIKOLOVA, 43, BULGARIAN

Iva was born and raised in Bulgaria and has been living in Greece for the last 15 years. She has studied waitering and bartending in a private school in Piraeus. She started to work on Mega Yachts in 1992. She is very well organized, polite, hardworking and focuses on satisfying every guest needs. She loves traveling, reading, the cinema and music. She speaks Greek, English and Russian.



STEWARDESS: NEVENA PENEVA, 23, BULGARIAN

Nevy comes from Bulgaria. She studied Economics at Sofia College. She joined Magna Grecia in July 2009 and she likes to combine her work with her passion for sea and traveling. She is enthusiastic and very cheerful and she loves working with children. She enjoys music, dancing and reading. Nevy speaks English and basic German.



BOSUN: IONUT SCRIPCARIU, 27, ROMANIAN

Ionut (Johnny) comes from Constanza, Romania. Johnny has worked at the family boat carpentry since his school days. He joined the Mega Yacht industry 4 years ago and he is enrolled in the Marine Academy of Constanza on a distance learning program. He has been working aboard Magna Grecia since November 2007. He is polite with a friendly personality and strong sense of team spirit. He loves traveling to new places and loves to learn the history of every new place he visits. He also enjoys water sports, diving, swimming and computers. Johnny speaks fluent English, Italian and Greek.



DECKHAND: DIMITRIS ROUMANIS,32, GREEK

Dimitris was born and raised in the Greek island of Elafonissos. He decided to become a seaman at the age of 18 and he joined the Greek Navy. Then he worked on cargo ships and in 2004 he decided to work aboard cruise ships and finally joined the Mega Yachts industry in 2008. He loves swimming as well as football and music. Dimitris speaks English.



DECKHAND: MARSEL LAMCJA,35, ALBANIAN

Marsel was born in Elbasan but he moved with his family to Athens at the age of 15. He started to work on yachts as a day-worker and he joined the Mega yachts as a crew member in 2004. In his free time he enjoys traveling and exploring new places. Marsel speaks Greek, English and basic Italian.
