MAITA'I Main Photo

Designed by renowned architecture firm VPLP (winner in 2010 of the prestigious Manley-Bendall Prize by the French Naval Academy and winner of the "1999 Most Innovative Superyacht" and designer of the best racing yachts in the world) Maita?i was given a full technical and design refit by its new owner in 2011. Maita?i has unique style, which is modern and very chic!
On board, the collection of original works of art sets the tone. Paintings, sculptures and furniture designs of Alexander Calder, Auguste Herbin, Martha Botto, Philippe Stark and Ross Lovegrove are together with modern conveniences such as iPads & iPods in the cabins and the salon, a Wii games console large screen television and DVD player with 300 movies available in each cabin.
Bed and bath linens and accessories come from the House of Hermès, the crystal stemware from Baccarat, and cutlery from Christofle. Every detail has been considered to create a high level of quality, beauty and style.
In addition to her style Maita?i is an amazingly adaptable boat: the double beds convert into single beds, one double cabin becomes a cabin for three teenagers, the tables can be made larger or smaller depending on the guests? needs, and the dining room can be inside or outside on the fly bridge for a 360 ° view.
The master suite offers a large dressing room, bureau and bathroom with a Hansgrohe rainShower and white Corian washbasins.
Guests will find it impossible to be bored with the numerous water toys on board, which include: an inflatable 10? sailing cat, wakeboard, water skis, diving equipment, kneeboard, floats.
Navigation is not forgotten, and Maita?i has new Hydranet sails and spectra lines. All of the equipment is on the forefront of the latest technology.

MAITA'I Crew Profile

Number of Crew: 4

Crew Profiles:

Captain Eddy Guzman

Nationality: French

Languages: English, French, and Spanish

Yacht Masters 200 tons unlimited license

Captain Eddy Guzman started travelling at a young age with his parents. The rest of his childhood was mostly spent in Paris. His love for sailing began when he started taking up the sport through his school.

At ten he had his first racing experience on an Optimist sailboat and continued racing on all kind of boats like 470, Tornado and single-handed offshore boats. After a few years of sailing instruction, he decided to try an office job in the medical field; however, after a few years he went back to his first love – sailing!

He has worked as a sailing instructor as well as water skiing instructor. Eddy holds a Yacht Masters 200 tons unlimited license, and is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. He has skippered boats up to 105’ to include the Eastern and Western Med and Croatia and Balearics, as well as having cruised the entire Caribbean, encompassing a career of 20 years.

Still, the best thing about Captain Eddy Guzman is his winning smile and “can do” personality, coupled with his hands on capability with sailing and mechanics to ensure an excellent time on board.

When the opportunity arose in September 2009 to combine her two passions, the sea and cooking, Enora embarked without a moment’s hesitation as a chef on board a motor yacht (Moonen 84’). In 2010 she met Eddy on CAP II (CNB 76’), with whom she worked as a hostess cook stewardess , then on board Miniskirt (Ron Holland 105’).

Thanks to her curiosity and hard work, her culinary repertoire has grown with the rich and exotic flavours of Mediterranean, Creole and Asian cuisines. Her cooking will definitely satisfy the most discerning palates.

Very organized, unflappable and always cheerful, she will happily assist you throughout your stay on board. She will also be glad to arrange your requirements such as corporate entertaining, children’s requests and any special dietary needs.

An excellent technician and a skilful sailor, Alain takes pride in maintaining Maita’ï to the highest standards and in presenting her to guests. Quiet, with a great sense of humour, Alain is someone you will enjoy having around.
