Chartering in Florida and the Bahamas

Operating in Florida and the Bahamas

From the time you step on to the swim platform and start to walk up to the aft deck you will appreciate the gradual rise of each step that you do not feel you are claiming a step at all. Once you are on the aft deck level you will notice the large size of this entertaining area with all the amenities Fridge, Ice maker, ceiling mounted TV, very large dining table and chairs.
The access from the aft deck to the Fly Bridge is another very well built staircase. The is a semi spiral star with very gradual risers in the steps and a very well placed hand rail around the side of the stairs to the top is very easy to use while underway.
The fly bridge is the best laid out area for entertaining, relaxing, cruising or just enjoying the spa pool or enjoying a very relaxing cocktail at the bar. Everything you need to enjoy life on a cruise is in this area.
Forward and a few steps down is the pilothouse. Enjoy the views from this driving station or just sit and admire the electronics, as the world goes by while doing 22 Knots. It is a beautiful experience.

The interior of Mar Azul is a knock out! She has a breath-taking effect when you walk through the automatic aft door and look at the never ending appearance of this Salon and Dining room.
Moving froward, along the starboard hallway, past the beautiful day head, you reach the Galley where the chef has all the kitchen appliances he needs to cater t-he largest dinner party you may have. This is a country kitchen layout with Island bench and a beautiful dinette forward.
Continuing forward, down a private staircase is the VIP stateroom. This is a room worthy of being a Master stateroom! It is very well appointed space that continues into the en suite head.
The entry to the lower accommodations is down the Port side stairs from the dining room into a very beautiful foyer.
Aft through double doors is The Master stateroom, another breath-taking room that invites you in with its elegance and comfort. You will not want to leave! It has a beautiful his and hers en suite with a very large shower in the center as a divider with a privacy curtain if needed.
Moving forward in the foyer, there are two Guest staterooms, port and starboard. These queen Guest staterooms are very spacious with beautiful ensuite heads and lots of hanging space.
Mar Azul has one of the best crew areas on a yacht of this size. With an all-weather entry down the stairs from the aft deck that has been incorporated into the design of the stairs to the fly bridge, allows for guests to have complete privacy from the crew when they are not working inside the yacht and they can come and go without entering the Yacht. The crew area has its own dining area, Captain’s cabin with ensuite head and Crew cabin and head.
We have a stainless steel water proof engine room door forward of the dinette and a second stainless steel, water proof, electric, hydraulic door aft to the lazarette that allows access to the swim platform.
Mar Azul’s design elements and professional crew combine to make her one of the BEST charter yacht on in service today.

Crew Profile

Mar Azul’s crew are highly trained, dedicated professionals. They not only bring individual skills to the yacht’s operation, but also the versatility to utilize them in varying and ever-changing conditions and locations. You set the pace. If you prefer discreet service on our yacht where the crew are unobtrusive but always available if needed, the captain, adept at assessing the requirements of each charter, will instruct the crew accordingly. For those who would like to be on more informal terms, you will find that the yacht’s crew will react accordingly-but without compromising levels of service.

Mar Azul’s crew is able to offer formal and impeccable onboard service. As a team they are flexible and experts at adapting to your own personal style. The crew is there to please only you and they delight in going beyond the call of duty to ensure that your time spent onboard is memorable in every way. I would like to introduce the crew of Mar AzuI:

Michael Norman Vogelsang -Captain

I was born and live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Have spent my whole life pursuing this career, growing up my Parents owned and ran a successful marine store in Fort Lauderdale, which was my introduction to the boating world. From there I have worked on every type of vessel, for the past 12 years I have had the pleasure to work for Hargrave Custom yachts. As one of their Captains, I have traveled the oceans.Currently I hold a USCG 1600-hundred-ton master captains license (all oceans.)

Berty Rich – Chef

I have been professionally employed as chef for the past 20 + years, predominantly aboard yachts, also a sa chef/partner at a restaurant in Harbour Island, Bahamas, and as a private chef in numerous estates. I love cooking and am very proud of my reputation as a chef. I have never encountered a kitchen crisis that couldn’t be conquered with skills, stamina, humor, and a good sharp knife. I have been so fortunate to have traveled so much of the world in my chosen profession. The cuisines and cultures I’ve experienced transformed me into the crazy foodie I’ve become. I have a very adventurous palate, but have no problem cooking for people with sensitivities or more classical tastes. My experience with the occasionally adverse, but never dull conditions of working on yachts, and ashore in the Bahamas, has given me the ability to cook in a rolling galley in rough seas, or a candle lit kitchen in a hurricane. I look forward to meeting and cooking for more fun, food loving people aboard the M/Y Mar Azul.

Bon Appetite

Chef Berty

Joel King - Mate

Joel king born and raised in Clinton Ohio, has worked in the yacht business for 18years mostly doing repair work, commissioning of new boats, and refit projects. Relocating to south Florida 2 years ago to look to make yachting my career, wentto work on Hargrave custom yachts. Love to travel, listen to live music and ofcourse the water

Farrah Macy - Stew

Farrah has worked on yachts since 2009 and it has taken her from the local waters of Florida, to the New England area, the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the Mediterranean. Originally from Boston, Farrah has that welcoming personality and will ensure your holiday is one to remember. Farrah is an active person, she has started to compete in long distance triathlons, and still trying to make friends with the bike. She is a certified scuba diver, and enjoys being on the water. Farrah enjoys being a chief stewardess because she is able to combine her love for being on the water, and helping people. She strives to ensure that your holiday is a smooth one, but one that you will remember. Farrah is also an avid reader, and if there is that book you are looking for to curl up to, she has some great recommendations. With extensive bar tending experience, she can also recommend a good cocktail to have while curled up with a good book.
