RONALD and ANYA PAXTON Ronald and Anya hail from George, South Africa where they met and married in 2008. After being introduced to the BVI's and the charter industry by Ronald's brother, they packed up everything and headed over to Tortola. The years have passed swiftly and skills refined and now a new adventure begins onboard Marmot Ronald grew up in George where he started sailing when he was 8. Moving up the various fleets, racing quickly became his main focus. In 1997 , at age 15, he was selected as part of the South African team to compete in the GP14 worlds held in Ireland. Later he moved onto lasers where he won the Laser youth Nationals in 1998. Ronald is a certified RYA Yachtmaster with many miles behind the helm. Ronald loves to dive and is a PADI Divemaster. He has always yearned for a life on the water, and as the captain of this yacht, his dream is fulfilled. Ronald is a delightful host and understands the importance of good service. MARMOT Testimonials
Guests aboard MARMOT in April, 2013:
Hi Ronald & Anya,
Hey gang, I hope you are enjoying your week and fixing things on the Marmot is going well and offering time to relax and enjoy.
I can’t tell you what an awesome time that Lynette and I had on our trip. You both do such a terrific job at your requirements to make the trip special for your guests. I can’t think of a thing that you could have done better. Your attention to detail is really superb, and you ensured that your guests were treated extremely special.
Anya, Lynette and I were so impressed with the food. We are pretty ordinary “folks” when it comes right down to it and we have never had a stretch of such gourmet food. We really don’t know how you do it with the galley kitchen. You don’t give yourself enough credit for your skills. I am 55 and I have eaten at some nice restaurants, I don’t do it every week, but I know what good food tastes like. You could cook at any major restaurant. And they don’t do it in a galley kitchen. You are awesome and I still am a little disturbed that you were down there cooking all the time while we were out on the deck having fun. Just me I guess.
Ronald, you too were awesome. Everything that we needed was right on time and perfect. You knew where to go an when. I felt like a slug or a King on your yacht. I guess they are the same. I’m used to having to work non-stop, so it was a new experience. The Diving was great, and the locations were perfect. Thanks for making everything exactly the experience that it should be for the $$. This was our most expensive vacation for just Lynette and I, and it was worth every cent.
Truly an AWESOME trip that we will never forget.
Maybe we will see you again sometime. I hope so.
You can share this on your site if you would like. Or, I would be glad to submit a similar reference on the sites the book your trips to ensure that the comments are more direct from Lynette and I. Just let me know the sites and I will take care of it.
Thanks
Scott Nixon

Dear Anya & Ron,
How can we possibly thank you for such an amazing trip! Not only did we love the boat and of course all the fun excursions ( skiing, snorkelingm drinking etc) but spending time with you both made it magical! The food was stupendous, the professionalism and attention to detail on every level unmatched Thank you for making this family time unforgettable and being a part of building memories to last a life time!

My apologies for the tardy reply. As you can imagine there are so many emails to go through!
We had an absolutely amazing time! I can't believe but every year it gets better and better. First of all the boat itself exceeded every expectation. It was roomy, elegant, very well kept up with every amenity! Ronald and Anya were by far the best crew we have ever had. We connected with them like we did with Gordon and Jacques! I don't know, maybe its the south african thing! But Anya's cooking far surpassed every other boat and she was gracious, and wonderful about everything. Ronald had the perfect combination of responsible and fun. We loved them as professionals and as people. Like Gordon and Jacques, definitely a cut above any other crew!
Thank you for your recommendation. It was truly a magical trip. I also should let you know that I am referring a friend.
Enjoy the beginning of Spring!
Thanks again,
Jane
Thank you again for a fantastic week aboard Marmot. I will complete the evaluation form but also wanted to touch base with you directly. All members of the Walker and Milano families had an outstanding time. You and Anya couldn’t have been any more accommodating and patient with our motley crew. The food and the activities were amazing and we now have another set of lifetime memories from being on your boat!
I’m sure you’ve noticed but we forgot our Coastal flag. I’ve attached a few of the best pics from the trip – it was hard to choose among all the winners! Thanks again for a magical time. I’m already looking forward to our next visit!
Best - Kristen Walker
