Merel Four, launched in 2005 is a modern Frers designed Swan, fully crewed and ready for charter within the Mediterranean and Caribbean. She is simple to sail and has been designed as a dual role Swan ideal for cruising and shorthanded sailing with an in-boom furling mainsail and roller-furling jib with full electric winches. She is equipped with an asymmetric spinnaker and is incredibly stable to sail.
Designed to give its guests maximum space and comfort Merel Four comprises a large interior volume whilst still retaining a very impressive sailing performance. The custom designed layout, incorporates a large master cabin with en-suite shower, two double guest cabins, and the saloon with incorporated galley makes for a comfortable and spacious living area.
Nautor Swans have wonderful interiors, with impeccable build quality, stunning woodwork, lacquer like a deep pool, super sleek lines, and of course excellent sailing qualities, so Merel Four is a good choice for a charter or racing yacht.

Christopher Michael Brand

Chris has been sailing for over 20 years, starting when he was seven on dinghies then moving onto racing yachts at the age of seventeen. His passion for competitive yacht racing led him to a job working for North Sails and later as professional crew for larger sailing yachts.

Chris has been running Merel Four since 2006 and has been responsible for organising the boats busy cruising schedule as well as the off shore racing campaigns. Whilst being the skipper of Merel Four, he has successfully over-seen the winning of the Swan Europeans and the Myth of Malham in 2009. This experience gives Chris a distinct advantage, insight and local knowledge of many Mediterranean and Caribbean destinations that most Charter companies, no matter how big, simply do not offer.

A commercially endorsed Ocean Master with an extensive knowledge of sailing and over 30.000 logged nautical miles., his personable nature and strong experience make him an ideal teacher for those who want to brush up or learn new sailing skills.


Jon Swindell

Jon is an experienced diver with 2 years experience working on dive boats in Australia and for the last year has been working on a 60 ft sailing yacht as chef. As well as being a qualified chef he has travelled extensively and spent some time working as a cocktail waiter so knows how
to make some great drinks!
