Judy's meals were delicious and generous (though she tried to respect our protestations), the wine cellar was excellent, and David's drinks were too indulgent.  Although METANI is first a sailing craft, the accommodations were more than ample for us two middle-agers, and would be adequate for another couple as well.

We just can't get over the polished woodwork and the leaded glass -- that, in a yacht that can set any combination of sails needed and handle any weather.  But above all, it was the good company that made our first crewed chartering experience so enjoyable.   David and Judy are laid-back, flexible, delightful, and just plain good company."

"What a fabulous vacation! We spent a leisurely ten days sailing from St. Vincent to Grenada in beautiful waters with those wonderful trade winds. “Metani" was always the most beautiful boat in every harbor and hardly a day passed without someone dinghying over to pay David compliments about her. The boat is truly a wooden work of art David and Judy were perfect hosts for the trip and their extensive sailing experience and travel made for many interesting hours of conversation.

When we were not sailing. exploring. snorkeling. or talking, we were eating. And how we ate! Judy's meals would have been a marvel if made in a modern kitchen. On a boat, they were Epicurean magic!

Oh, did mention the sailing?  It was the main purpose of the charter, and we were not disappointed. From a memorable leg under full sail with a beam wind of 12-15 knots when passaging from Bequia to Ganouan, to an unforgettably exhilarating passage in 25-30 knots Of wind when covering the 40 miles from Union Island to Grenada. We averaged over 8 knots for the passage, hitting 11 knots at one stage. David and Judy enjoyed the ride, as I felt like I could have steered the boat forever! (I have had the opportunity to helm a wide variety of boats over the years, from 12 meters to catamarans. but "Metani" is special: truly a sailor's boat.)
