Your Captain, Bob Wostmann, has over thirty-five years of boating experience on both coasts and abroad. He is a fully certified US Coast Guard Master. With 37 years at the helm and 28 seasons traveling over 45,000 miles in the Alaska Inside Passage, Captain Bob is a truly experienced seafarer. He has an impeccable record of no accidents or serious delays, and every charter has begun and ended on schedule.

Bob knows where to find the out of the way beautiful spots; great fishing holes; the best spots for you to drop a crab pot or two; locations for whales, bears, goats; and some of the best isolated anchorages in the Southeast Alaska. Captain Bob will insure that you have a safe and unique boating experience!

Tony - Executive Chef

Tony, our accomplished Executive Chef, has been providing extraordinary meals for discerning charter guests for years. Tony satisfies the fussiest appetites with the highest quality local ingredients professionally prepared and beautifully presented with a genuine smile. Fresh caught fish and a wide selection of vegetables are served with a creative touch and he insures that special dietary requirements, food allergies or culinary needs are taken into consideration.

MIDNIGHT SUN Testimonials

Our customers mean the world to us. Literally. It is our privilege to share Alaska with people from all continents and every walk of life. We have explored with seasoned travelers as well as first-time trekkers and welcome anybody looking for more from life than the standard tour.

“In the top 5 of all our travel experiences.  Captain Bob is so passionate about what he does.  It was absolutely A plus.  The food was simply the best.  The crew couldn't have been better.  We would suggest this trip to anyone who might be interested. When I get home I will e-mail you a few photos - we did capture some awesome sights.  Thank you very very much for recognizing the Midnight Sun as one of your custom trips.  So very worthwhile” - Diane M., August 2012

“Dear Captain Bob, The only cruise that Michael and I ever considered taking was an Alaskan cruise. We just never imagined that it would be as wonderful as our cruise with you and your crew. You have such a well thought out plan. Everything a person could want was provided on your boat. It was the trip of a lifetime. Alaska is such a beautiful place with so many wonderful things to see and experience.  We enjoyed every minute of it.  You have a great team.  To top it off, your generous gift of the photo book, photo CD and such a nice surprise delivered to the hotel on Friday.  The black pebbles! You really made my trip complete with that gesture.  Just perfect down to the last detail. Thank you so much! Best wishes to you.” - Linda and Michael M. July 2012

“Unique, indescribable, unforgettable. IF YOU HAVE TO TURN  60, THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT!   Molly & Jay, from Reno

"What a trip!! Captain Bob really knew how to make this a trip of a lifetime. The views from boat were breathtaking with the clear water, mountains and glaciers all around us. I got to do some great Salmon fishing and my wife could do Humpback whale watching all in the same trip. To top this off Bob even took care of getting the Salmon shipped to our home back in Minnesota. This is what Southeast Alaska fishing is all about." - Craig L., Minnesota

“We all six truly LOVED the Midnight Sun. It was perfect for us and very comfortable and livable and we felt quite at home and relaxed. We were royally treated and spoiled beyond belief. Capt. Wostmann worked hard to achieve everything we had on our list and accomplished that and more. It was just a perfect cruise and our trip could not have been more enjoyable from the outstanding crew, to whales galore, to bears galore, to good fishing and unbelievable scenery." - Mary & Skip T., Dallas TX

"An extraordinary experience with an extraordinary crew!! Thank you for making this a very special and unforgettable week, rich with the spectacular beauty of the area; five star, healthy meals and amazing wildlife viewing. The crew was perfect anticipating and meeting our every need.  This was a trip we will never forget.” -  John & Nancy K., San Anselmo, CA
