PYEWACKET private yacht

Captain Andrew McKee’s love for the sea started in his childhood home town of Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, where he began competitive sailboat racing at a young age, winning New Jersey State Champion on Hobie 16’s and Sportsmanship of the Year awards. An avid surfer and skateboarder, he also started his own skateboard business. By the time he graduated high school, the company was manufacturing up to 1000 boards a week.
He eventually sold the business to pursue his dream of working in the yachting industry. A maintenance position for a 76’ power yacht led to his first captain’s job over 30 years ago. Since then he has held captain positions on sail and power yachts from 60’ to 144’.

Captain McKee has been USCG licensed since 1977, with STCW Training, including Shipboard Firefighting, Lifesaving and First Aid Certifications. He has extensive knowledge of U.S. inland and coastal waters, the Caribbean and Bahamas. Most of his summers are now spent cruising the New England coast, especially Maine, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Winters are spent in Florida and the Bahamas.

His successful charter career includes many repeat clients, several of whom have returned for 10 years or more. He has held his current position on M/Y PYEWACKET since 1988, and takes exceptional pride in maintaining her to the highest yachting standards.
