CREW PROFILE

CAPTAIN: MURRAY KELMAN

My whole life has revolved around sailing, racing or instructing. I have been competing on sailing yachts since aged 9 and was the Western Australian Champion in the Pelican Class racing yacht at 15yrs.

I have worked professionally in the charter sailing industry in Australia for three years and the international super yacht industry for 3 years. In addition I have also been a sailing instructor since 1992 and have designed and built land yachts for which I won the Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee Award.

Previously I worked on S/Y Alize in the Mediterranean. S/Y Alize is very well known in the industry to have the highest standards of which I am proud to say I contributed greatly, in particular on the engineering side. We cruised primarily between Spain, Italy and Greece. I have an extensive background in navigation from sailing professionally and cruising on my personal yacht.

As Captain for Australia's busiest sailing charter company, I ran three day charters twice weekly for up to eighteen guests. We were conducting back to back trips all year round. More recently I joined Odysseus as Captain and have ensured very successful charters with a strong team in the Caribbean. I pride myself on ensuring that guests have a peaceful and relaxing sailing experience, enjoying calm and picturesque anchorages. I particularly enjoy providing guests with a memorable sailing experience
