ESCAPE...   RELAX...   LIVE...

Pentesilea II was built with two things in mind… Luxury charter and performance. While most modern catamarans are plain white fiberglass inside and out, Pentesilea’'s interior is finished in a beautiful Teak wood and varnished Cherry. One of the very few Catamarans of her size to offer four guest cabins, Pentesilea II has just about every modern comfort and convenience you will find in your home. Ensuite electric heads and showers, Air Conditioning, Bose stereo system, a large flat-screen television and cellular internet are only a few of her many features. Fast and sleek, she comfortably glides through the sea at up to 15 knots!

Although the interior saloon and cabins are comfortable and beautiful, Pentesilea II adheres to the idea that sailing vacations are meant to be enjoyed outside… and her deck plan shows it. The main dining table can comfortably seat 8 and stays dry in all weather. The large outdoor cockpit can easily accommodate 10 or more people and there are loads of places to lay back and relax. Two sun-mats on either side of the cockpit can take a couple each and the hammock-like bow trampolines can take the whole gang. The two bow seats offer a thrilling ride!

Pentesilea’'s dinghy, or “Penny” as she is referred to is a 15 ft. Caribe with a 50 HP engine. Penny is very large for Pentesilea'’s size and will ensure that you get to shore fast and safe. Not to mention how much fun you will have when all the water toys come out!

Pentesilea II received a full refit in 2010 and is more beautiful than ever. As a charter boat, she is tried and true and one thing is for certain: Her guests are always happy with their choice.

PENTESILEA II Crew Profile

Introducing Captain/Chef Cassandra Contreras and Chef/Captain/Dive Instructor Jason Kuzcek.

Cassandra and Jason have been exploring together for sixteen years, and both share a love for travel, adventurous activities, cooking, diving and being on the ocean.

Chef/Captain/Dive Instructor Jason Kuczek
Jason was born and raised exploring the Colorado Rockies.  He learned early on that he was a natural explorer, having a passion for hiking, rock climbing, camping, and anything else that could keep him outdoors gathering new experiences.  In his mid-teens, he spent a summer sailing and diving in the Channel Islands where he fell in love with the ocean.  His high school years were spent working as a Rescue Diver and Divemaster, gaining experience working with student divers in a wide variety of environments.  At 18, Jason became a scuba instructor, spending the next 7 years island hopping throughout the Caribbean, transitioning from diver to boat Captain while working in the Cayman Islands.  He then returned to Colorado to manage a diving operation and travel agency in the foothills of Boulder.  For the next several years, Jason guided monthly dive trips around the world, escorting groups of divers to destinations in the South Pacific, Galapagos, Caribbean, British Columbia, Australia, and Norway.
During his time in Boulder, Jason met his wife Cassandra, and together they returned to the Caribbean to dive in the Florida Keys and Bahamas.  After a year of fun experiences, they returned to Colorado to finish undergraduate studies where Jason became involved in endurance and multi-sport training and nutrition.  From Colorado, they moved to New Orleans to complete graduate studies while enjoying the rich culture and unique history of the city.  While living in New Orleans, Jason discovered his second great passion while learning the nuances of Creole, French, and Spanish cuisine.  Fresh seafood, spices, and the influences of chefs like John Besh and Emeril Lagasse sparked his imagination and taught him great respect for fresh ingredients, tradition, and the fusion of classic technique and creativity.  His food will blow you away and you will not leave Pentesilea hungry!!!
Captain/Chef/ Rescue Diver Cassandra Contreras
Cassandra grew up in South Texas dancing and dreaming of the ocean.  Starting out on tubes and canoes on the Texas rivers, her love for travel and the water eventually led to a U.S. Coast Guard 50 ton Masters license. At an early age she found herself exploring the Caribbean and by her late teens, she was a certified  SCUBA diver exploring the depths of the ocean.  Her love for the ocean only grew, and she re-located to the Florida Keys where she took on sailing and boating of all kinds.  She immersed herself in non-profit work for years but always found time to sail, dive and feed her love of the ocean. This love of the ocean culminated when she and Jason moved to the Virgin Islands, where she has been sailing professionally for years.  Between working and playing on the water, she still finds time to dance, run, get crafty and cook with Jason, her husband of ten years.
Not only does Cassandra hold a 50 ton U.S. Coast Guard Master license, she is a PADI rescue diver, speaks Spanish and has a Masters degree from Tulane University.   Taking care of her guests and showing them a good time in the islands comes second only to their comfort and safety.  She looks forward to welcoming you aboard Pentesilea.

After 7 years in the Big Easy, Cassandra and Jason were drawn back to the sun and the ocean.  They have spent the past several years sailing and diving the waters of the British and U.S. Virgin Islands as Captains and Crew and truly enjoy sharing their experiences with fellow travelers.
Learning and living on the water together has been their greatest adventure of all, and they are excited to share their adventures with their guests.
Cass and Jason are a young, energetic couple that have a ton of experience both on the water and under it.  They are both Captains, both professional divers and both chefs!!!  This fun-loving, professional pair make the perfect crew to show you around the Virgin Islands!!

PENTESILEA II Testimonials

Guests aboard PENTESILEA 2 in 2016 said:

Jason and Cassandra did an awesome job! We can't imagine anyone doing a better job than they did. They were very professional and competent in all areas during the charter. At the same time they were very friendly and made us feel at ease and welcome on the boat. The food was magnificent- better than any restaurant we went to. They were very helpful and patient with us on our scuba diving as we all were new to the sport. Side trips on each island were facilitated by their knowledge and expertise. If and when we do another charter in the BVIs we would definitely want to have Jason and Cassandra again😀!-
Sara and Frank Little, June 2016

Cass and Jason were incredibly ingratiating and welcomed us like part of the family. Cant wait to go again!-
Ted Kasemir, April 2016

Jason and Cassandra went above and beyond to make sure that we had an amazing trip. All of Jason's meals were delicious and exceeded our expectations! Jason and Cassandra are a fun couple to sail with and we enjoyed our time with them. They took us to beautiful areas we likely wouldn't have been to before and are extremely knowledgable about the area. They always made sure that we were safe and comfortable. The boat was fun and well stocked with activities ranging from paddle boards, kayaks, scuba and games. We were able to be active or just relax as we pleased. We would love to plan another trip with them in the near future-
Gina Flynn, February 2016

Guests aboard PENTESILEA 2 in late June and early July, 2015

We were fortunate to spend a week with Andrew and Kailee onthe Penteselia II.

They were very accommodating and extremely familiar with options for excursions, snorkeling, hiking, restaurants, etc.  They took the time to understand ourpreferences and create an itinerary with something for everyone to enjoy.  They had a wealth of knowledge about theislands customs and lore.  The meals wereincredible and served with our agenda in mind.  Our family had a fabulous vacation and we would recommend without reservation this crewed boat!

We had the "Captain only" charter, so we took care of Captain Hannes in the food and crew department. If we were to sail again, we would definitely go with the food and chef included. I am sure Kristen would have added more value to our experience. But we did fine. It was fun to check out different restaurants. Our Skipper Hannes was absolutely the BEST!!! He was very knowledgeable and well organized. He was patient with people that have never been on a sailboat, provided assistance whenever needed, no one on the boat had to wait for help. He made sure our snorkel equipment fit properly. Basically, Hannes was determined to make sure all the guests got the most out of the BVI Sailing experience. This man is passionate about sailing and making sure everyone was happy. There is too much to comment on, our sailing adventure was an experience that will never be forgotten. I would recommend Hannes and the Pentesilea II for anyone to enjoy.

Area Cruised: Virgin Islands

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations. We would love to know some of your impressions about your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
Hannes and Jayde were fantastic! They immediately made us feel at home.

2. Was the yacht comfortable and clean?
The yacht was amazing, there was plenty of room for my family.

3. Was the yacht well ventilated?
The air-conditioning was not working in the kiddie kingdom, which made it uncomfortable at night. The ac in the on-suite cabin shut off in the middle of the night on our last three evenings, which made it uncomfortable.

4. Was the food good and well presented?
Jayde made many spectacular dishes. It was like eating at a five star restaurant three times a day!

5. Did you like the area you sailed?
Hannes planned a wonderful trip for us and was very cautious about a storm that may have threatened during the week. We were constantly on the move and enjoyed the sights at every island.

6. Could we have helped you further in any way?
The tender that should have been on the boat broke down. You could have assisted Hannes in getting the tender fixed during our trip.

7. May we post this review on our website?
Yes

8. Additional comments on your charter?
This was truly one of the most beautiful and relaxing vacations my family has ever taken. Hannes and Jayde were like part of the family. They went out of their way to give us the greatest trip. Hannes always had a fun story or an exciting experience to share and had my kids enthralled with his tales. Jayde was so sweet and went out of her way to make us these fantastic meals, each one better than the next. They were fantastic with my children and we look forward to sailing with Hannes and Jayde in the future. This is a trip we will be talking about for years to come!

July 2011

We want to thank you both again for all that you did to make our charter vacation fantastic.  Before going, we were told it would be the best vacation we would ever take and looking back we would have to say it really was the best.  Your willingness to accommodate all of our preferences and desires was great. You made us all feel comfort, relaxed and at home right away.

Captain B we really appreciate all that you did.  You have a fantastic boat that was perfect for the whole family.  Anytime we asked about doing something you always had the right equipment and was willing to lead the group, whether it was diving, night diving, or even tubing.  We really appreciate your willingness to not only be the captain of the boat but also our dive master and tour guide.  You always were searching for interesting things on every dive so that we could see as much as possible, that was a lot of work and we really appreciated it.

You both were so kind and friendly with all of us and seemed to genuinely care that everyone was having a good time.  Your wonderful hospitality allowed us all to really feel comfort and relaxed.

Heather you were always so accommodating to all of us.  You quickly picked up on our personal preferences and seemed to always anticipate our next need.  Thank you for all that you did to make us all feel at home.

It was wonderful getting to know both of you better.  You are really nice people.

Attached are some photos from the trip.  I will have to send them in two emails.

Hope to sail with you again.
