David Butler – Captain
Age: 40
MCA CEC for 500T Ocean Master / 3000T Ocean Mate

David is taking over command of Perseus after spending 2 years as Boatswain and Relief Captain. He is very experienced aboard Perini Navi yachts having served relief aboard Felicita West, two and half years aboard Morning Glory and a year aboard Lady Lauren. David was raised and learned to sail on the Maine Coast and has sailed widely on sail training schooners and tall ships. He sailed around the world in 1999-2000 aboard the 30M sloop Azzura. He currently divides his time between his home in Boothbay Harbor, Maine and his lady’s home in Savannah, Ga.


Mike Sutton - Chief Engineer (Rotational)
Age: 35
MCA Y2 Engineer, RYA Yacht Master Offshore

Mike was born in England but moved extensively with his family during his school years. He has been working on yachts of all sizes all over the world for the last 12 years. He loves sailing, being outdoors and enjoys a good day out on the golf course or the ski slopes. Mike has recently achieved his helicopter licence in Mallorca, Spain and is happiest flying around the island where he currently resides.


Craig McGree – Chief Engineer (Rotational)
Age: 33
MCA Y4 Engineer, RYA Yacht Master Offshore

Craig is from Western Australia where he completed an apprenticeship on a large gold mine after which the urge to travel took over. He headed to Europe where he joined a fleet of small sail boats and within a few years progressed up to super yachts. Craig in now in his 9th year as a Chief Engineer, almost the entire time spent on Perini Navi’s. He loves the outdoors, skiing, hiking and diving.


Scott Kynoch – First Officer
Age: 32
MCA: Master 500GT Unlimited. MCA Chief Mate 3000GT Unlimited

Scott is from Durban South Africa and has been involved in yachting from an early age, cruising the world with his family aboard a 39ft double ended ketch. He then decided a trade would give him professional skills so he obtained his certification in plumbing. With this accomplished Scott returned to yachting and since joining the industry in 2000, he has been employed mostly aboard Perini Navi’s and has had the pleasure of sailing as far a field as the Pacific and New Zealand. He is an avid rugby fan, and enjoys hiking, fishing and all aspects of outdoor living.



Paula Bushell – Chief Stewardess & Purser
Age: 32
BA in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, PADI Dive Master

Originally hailing from Ireland, Paula departed the Emerald Isle in 2001 to indulge in her passion for the warmer oceans of the world. She left a career in Financial Recruitment to pursue her world travels and has since worked in hospitality, as a professional scuba diver and for almost five years as a super yacht stewardess. Some of her interests include water sports, snowboarding, sailing, photography and enjoying life. Paula is a hospitable and professional stewardess who prides herself in the interior departments’ attention to detail and interaction with all guests. She has provided a first class service onboard Perseus for over three year and has completed a number of specialised hospitality courses and all safety training.


Josef Costa – Chef
Age: 35
City & Guilds 706-1/2/3 Professional Chefs Diploma

Joe has been a professional chef for 17 years. He was classically trained at Westminster College, London, passing with Distinction in the top 5% of his year. He qualified to further his training at the “Savoy School of Catering” based at “Claridges”, in London. His first placement at the “The Rock” Hotel in Gibraltar introduced him to fine dinning at its best where he held the position of Second Commis for 1 year. Joe then returned to London as First Commis at the opening of “Le Pont de La Tour” Tower Hill for Sir Terrence Conran where he continued to work for the Conran group for several years with placements at “The Blue Bird”, Fulham “Bibendum” South Kensington, “Quaglinos” St.James & “Mezzo” Soho finishing as successful & respected Sous.

He then formed a partnership with a friend and on a whim opened “The Point” restaurant in Albert Park, Melbourne, Australia, a modern-eclectic bistro offering a fusion of dishes from around the world. The Point was and still is a great success. He then returned to London to open his own Spanish Tapas restaurant “Café Jose” in Epping and expanded to a second within London’s prestigious Muswell Hill Golf Club. He then sold up and set sail with Perseus.


Jennifer Dingle – Boatswain

Jen grew up in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Like most Kiwis she loves the outdoors and of course rugby. After finishing her degree in 2003 she decided it was time to travel. She began her travels in America as a Rock Climbing Instructor then headed to Europe. In 2004, Jen joined the yachting industry and so far much of her experience has been on Perini Navi’s. Jen’s main interests revolve around sports, especially hiking and climbing, and music.



Tom Dawson – 2nd Engineer / Deckhand
Age: 24
Degree in Sports Science
RYA Yacht Master Offshore, MCA Approved Engine Course

Tom was born in England but brought up in the South of France. He calls himself English but the crew sometimes have their doubts having been caught drinking Pastis and cheering ‘Allez le Bleu’ during the Rugby world cup. He went to Sports University which incorporated swimming, skiing, fitness and many other sports; but one in particular caught his attention… racing and teaching sailing. After spending one of his university years in Spain he became addicted to travelling and is now fluent in four languages. Tom joined Perseus in 2006 and enjoys being part of this dynamic team. His hobbies include all sports, fishing and dressing up.



Susan Webber - Stewardess
Age: 43
BA in Advertising, Minor in Graphic Arts
Cuisine and Culture Certificate, Institut Paul Bocuse, Lyon France

Sue left her home in San Diego 4 years ago to pursue a career in yachting that would include her passions for food, travel and the ocean. She has enjoyed working her way from the Caribbean, to Alaska, to the Med and back, on a variety of yachts including classic wooden motor, sport fishing and sailing yachts. Her eclectic background includes a successful career in marketing and advertising, managing an upscale florist shop, owning her own full service wedding and event management company, working as a live-in and travel nanny, and cooking at a remote oyster farm and fishing lodge in Alaska. While Sue has worked as a Chef, Chef/Stew, and Chef/Stew/Deckhand, she prefers to focus her creative talents on the stewardess aspect of the yachting industry. Sue’s other interests include surfing, fishing, hiking, yoga and looks forward to becoming scuba certified.

Patricia Moore – Stewardess
Age: 26
BA in Sport & Leisure Studies

Raised in the Bay of Islands, in the North of New Zealand Patricia enjoys the outdoors and has a love of ball and water sports. In 2003, after completing her studies, she left to travel overseas and has been indulging her travel bug ever since, working in the USA as a Summer Camp Counsellor and for three years in England in the Hotel and Corporate world. A change of scenery and a challenge beckoned and the need to be away from the office desk. An interest in working on cruise ships and a chance meeting with a Captain on a super yacht helped make the decision to work on super yachts as a stewardess, which she has been enjoying for the past year.
