POINT 02 Crew Profile

CAPTAIN SYLVIE FINCK
Born on the Normandie Coast, Captain Sylvie naturally began sailing at a young age. She launched her professional career working in Normandy and Britanny in 2005, which led to jobs throughout the balmy islands of the Caribbean from 2006-2010, including; Martinique, the Grenadines, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Les Saintes, Saint Martin, Anguilla and Saint Barthelemy. In this region she was able to indulge in her passion for yachting while working year around as a skipper.
Captain Sylvie completed her university education with a Masters Degree in Economic Sciences. As a teenager she dreamt of becoming a journalist and work as a reporter, but made the pragmatic switch to economics, all of which required postponing her career as a professional sailor. During this time she owned a boat and often went sailing with friends. Eventually she took action and enrolled in the Maritime School in Cherbourg, where upon course completion she was issued her Captain's License
Captain Sylvie most enjoys sailing, having fun and spending time on the yacht with her guests. She is both sensitive and responsive to her crew yet is always in command, whether on charter or delivery. Sylvie and her crew perform flawlessly as a team to insure charter guests the utmost in service, safety and cruising performance.
