QUEEN MIRI can accommodate 36 guests in 18 cabins consisting of a primary suite with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities located forward, 9 cabins with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities and 8 cabins with a twin bed and en-suite bathroom facilities.

Richard Grissell – Australia – Captain

Richard has a very diverse history in the maritime industry. Graduating from the Australian Maritime Academy he commencing employment in the Commercial Merchant Navy and was thereafter selected to represent his country as a participant in a global yachting challenge to re-enact a world sailing route aboard the worlds only surviving Square Rigged Sailing vessels. Following completion of that epic voyage his career led him to the exciting field of yachting where he quickly rose through the ranks to Captain and has now been a Captain aboard some the most luxurious vessels in the world for over twenty years sailing to some of the most exotic and remote locations available worldwide. Richard’s many global adventures and vast travels provide a solid knowledge base specialising in world luxury cruising

Elwin grew up in and around the water and has been dinghy and small keelboat sailing since a young age. He has undertaken many studies associated with maritime life and among his accolades are Bachelor degree in “Maritime Operations” from Maritime Institute ‘De Ruyter’ (The Netherlands) and is a licensed Master Mariner (Master Unlimited), Ship Security Officer, Ships Masters Medical and PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. At sea since 2007 his cruising has taken him to many international locations including Alaska, South East Asia, Australia, French Polynesia, Mid America, Caribbean and East/West Mediterranean. In his recreation time Elwin enjoys diving, sailing, paddle boarding, hiking and photography; in particular underwater photography.

Dan has been at sea for 10 years. His passion for the ocean saw his career start in the Merchant Navy before moving across to private yachts and has worked on some of the largest super yachts in the world. Studies undertaken include a Bachelor of Science in “Marine Studies – Merchant Shipping” at Plymouth University. Career highlights include circumnavigating the world several times and cruising in the Pacific, from Alaska to Panama. In Dan's spare time he enjoys fishing, snowboarding, travelling, running and fitness.

Rudy is trained under the Dutch system as a Deck and Engine Officer. He joined Queen Miri in the summer of 2016 after working on a busy 70-meter charter yacht where he worked as a Cadet, Second and eventually Chief Officer for two seasons. Rudy has been working at sea for 5 years, sailing the seas on a variety of ships such as: cargo, dredging and offshore from Third to Chief Officer. Rudy has a number industry certifications and a vast knowledge of life at sea, which makes him a valuable asset to our team. In his free time, he likes to meet his family and friends and is also keen on travelling and discovering more of the world.

Working at sea for 18 years he started his career as a cadet in 1998 with P&O / Princess Cruises where he stayed until 2011, studying and working his way through the ranks to become a Chief Engineer. In 2011 Tommy made the move to private yachts and has the opportunity to work on a couple of high profile, large boats. Tommy is from a seafaring family with a love for water sports, in particular wake boarding and in winter enjoys snowboarding and skiing. When not at sea likes to spend time at cooking at home with his wife and dog and when possible driving fast cars on track days.

Woody’s passion for Engineering and the ocean make him a valuable asset to the crew of Queen Miri. He has studied Marine Engineering and has valuable expreience with an all-encompassing career with P&O/Princess Cruises cruise ships for 7 years. His experience is broad considering he is only 28 years of age and is proud of his career highlight “ Sailing as Chief Engineer for the first time at the age of 25”. Woody moved to yachts in 2012, is married with a 3 year old daughter and when not aboard enjoys hiking, biking, golf, camping, rugby and home in Newcastle, England.

Kerrie has 10 years in the yachting industry with 8 years as Chief Stewardess on yachts ranging in size from 50m to 115m. She is a perfectionist that leads by example and has a wealth of experience in service, housekeeping and a very good knowledge of wines. As a former elite swimmer Kerrie has represented Great Britain internationally and now in her spare time enjoys keeping fit, hiking and partaking in fine dining. Work has allowed her the opportunity to cruise remote areas in Alaska and Panama in addition to the Mediterranean and Caribbean regions.

Chloe is from the small Welsh coastal village of Ogmore and has been enjoying yachting life for 4 1/2 years. She has strong service skills, always a big smile and her enthusiasm for cooking and cocktail mixing make her an important member of the crew guest services team. Time spent studying cocktail mixing in London has given her an impressive repertoire. Chloe has career aspirations of becoming a Chief Stewardess. A certified diver, she enjoys the opportunity to discover new diving sites, horse riding and international travel.

After finishing an honours degree in biological sciences 10 years ago; Chris embarked on a successful yachting career working as Head Chef on yachts up to 115m. Chris has had a passion for cooking and fine dining from a young age, that inspired him to undertake further studies and complete a diploma at Gordon Ramsey's acclaimed “Culinary Academy” in London. Classically trained as a chef, however his travels have broadened his knowledge and allow him to cook any style of cuisine his guests require to the highest of standards. Styles include Italian, French, Spanish, Asian, Thai American to name a few and is competent catering for any dietary requirements including kosher, paleo, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and diabetic etc. Whilst not in the galley, Chris enjoys keeping fit, hiking, playing rugby and cycling.

After working in the motor car industry for over 20 years in various sales and management roles Jamie decided it was time to change tack and undertake study to become a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. At the conclusion of study, he established his own private practice specialising in remedial based massage treatments and care plans. A passion for travel is what encouraged Jamie to join the yachting industry. When not working he will be found ashore discovering the local area enjoying regional food and wine and learning the local cultures and customs.

Barbie has 13 years experience working as a Massage Therapist, both land based and aboard private yachts. She has the ability to assess individual needs and provide massage based on the clients needs using her multitude of techniques. International travel and the opportunity to meet people from different cultures was what motivated Barbie to join the yachting industry. When not travelling Barbie enjoys the opportunity to spend time with family and friends in the Philippines.

Isabella has been a part of the crew of this yacht since its original launch in 2004. During that time, she has been in the Housekeeping team ensuring the exceptionally high standards of the yacht have been maintained. Isabella is from Varna, the largest seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast and when time permits likes to return to spend time with family and friends.
