Captain Chris Twyman is originally from South Africa & has been in the yachting industry for 9+ years.  He joined Quivira as First Mate in the summer of 2005 when the yacht was in Greece and was promoted to Captain within 8 months.  Prior to yachting he worked for South African Education as well as in Real Estate Sales.  He left his country in 1999 seeking adventures abroad, which he found on various yachts such. Currently holding his 500-ton license, in the near future he plans to upgrade to a 1600 ton/class 4 Masters License. Chris is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys fishing, spear fishing, rock climbing, horse riding and photography.  Chris’ 18 year-old daughter Jade is our 3rd Stewardess.

First Mate Taylor Tillman hails from beautiful Big Sky country in western Montana and grew up spending his days exploring the outdoors.  Taylor has taken his quest for adventure around the globe traveling and found yachting to be the industry best suited for his lifestyle. He has been in boating for 6 years and holds a 200-ton Captain’s license.  Taylor enjoys hiking, biking, camping, world travel & motorcycling.  He recently spent several weeks in India, Nepal and reached the 1st base on Mouth Everest.  He is always ready for the next trip and eager to accommodate guests wherever Quivira goes.  He is SCUBA certified and prepared to show you the dive of a lifetime.

Chef Justin Remo is originally from Allentown Pennsylvania and joined the crew of Quivira in March 2006 as its Chef.  Before joining the industry in November 2005, he worked in fine dining establishments for more than 10 years.  He holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Hotel Restaurant Management for the Pennsylvania State University where he graduated in 2001.  Justin has also trained in professional kitchens at award winning restaurants, clubs and resorts in places such as Philadelphia, NYC, Sonoma County California and St. Kitts W.I.  In his free time he enjoys running, biking, outdoor activities, live music and supporting the E.E.W.C.F.  His dream is to one day own and operate his own Taco bus with his apprentice Javier or be a stay at home dad.

Chief Stewardess Lisa Donnelly has been living onboard Quivira since April 2005.  She is thankful to have grown up in the beautiful state of New Hampshire but being raised in snow country and longing to travel she headed south to warmer weather.  Arriving in South Florida she began exporting classic European cars and remained here for the next 7 years learning every aspect of vintage Mercedes, Jaguars, Austin Healy’s, etc. as well as sales & transport between countries.  Intrigued with the places she shipped to, she discovered a way to travel and work.  With 2 Atlantic crossings on Quivira, she has now been in the yachting industry for more than 8 years and is looking forward to this season in Central America.  She is an avid fan of The Boston Red Sox, Horse Racing, Snorkeling, Photography, Frisbee & Wine.  She extends her hospitality to all guests, wishing to make their stay luxuriously relaxing, fun and memorable.

Engineer Shaun Russouw is our newest crewmember and is from Capetown, South Africa.  He has been in the marine industry for 14 years and completed an Engineering Cadetship on product tankers in the Merchant Navy.  Shaun has now been in the Mega Yacht industry for more than 2 years as Chief Engineer.  In his spare time he enjoys riding dirt bikes, water sports and is always up for trying something new.

2nd Engineer/Bosun Darryn Glen was born in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa where he eventually would like to call his permanent home.  Growing up here he was an avid surfer and enjoyed sailing and water sports.  Here, he claims he has been in some of the roughest seas off the Cape of Storms.  After finishing High School his love of the sea drew him into the yachting industry, he has recently achieved his 200-ton Captains license after residing on Quivira since the summer of 2006.  Darryn also holds an Advanced Engineering Course Certificate.  He enjoys surfing, wakeboarding, mountain biking, and has recently discovered spearfishing.

2nd Stewardess Jade Twyman is 18 years old and grew up in Durban, South Africa.  Her father is the Captain and after finishing school a year ago, he gave her the opportunity to come to the US to experience and see what he has been doing for the past 10 years.  She has now been aboard Quivira since October 2008 and is loving every minute of it.  Cooking tips from Chef Justin has piqued Jade’s interest in the culinary side of yachting.  She also plans to get SCUBA certified this season in Belize. She enjoys reading, writing and being in the water.
